Some media practitioners in Nasarawa state have formed a media support group tagged ‘MEDPRO 4 BUASTA’AL 2019’, an acronym for Media Professionals for Buhari, Audu Sule, Ta’al 2019, to work for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, the success of Engr. Audu Sule as governor of Nasarawa state, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura as Senator Nasarawa south as well as for other APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
A statement issued in Lafia by the initiator of the group Alhaji Rayyanu Bala indicates that the media practitioners under the group decided to come together to deploy their talents to ensure re-election of President Buhari in view of his achievements in the fight against corruption, insecurity and diversification of the nation’s economy.
The statement stressed that among all the governorship candidates in the state, it is only Engr. Sule that is endowed with requisite experience to move the state to the next level of development in view of his exposure in the art of governance and management of resources acquired through his over 30 years in the private sector, adding that Engr. Sule would also ensure continuity of the developmental strides of Governor Al-makura in the state.
According to the group, Governor Al-makura deserves to be senator for Nasarawa South in view of his achievements in all sectors in the last seven and half years.
The group assured that it would work tirelessly to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari, Engr. A.A Sule, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura and all other candidates of the APC emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections.
Outlining the group’s modus operandi the statement said the group intend to constantly and consistently review and articulate the campaign activities of President Muhammadu Buhari for president, Engr. A.A. Sule for governor, Tanko Al-makura for senate, other APC candidates in the state and present them in proper media perspective for public consumption.
Other objectives according to the statement include ensuring prompt and constructive engagement of the opposition at all times in the media in order to guard the public against being misled about the noble objectives of President Muhammadu Buhari, Engr A.A Sule and Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura and the APC in general through generating news and features for local, national and international consumption.
The statement also said the group would undertake regular media research, syndication and periodically visit media organizations within and outside the state to promote mutual relationship between the candidates and the media outfits.
The statement appealed for support of the people of Nasarawa state to ensure re- election of President Buhari, Engr. Sule as governor and Al-makura as Senator as well as the victory of all APC candidates in the 2019 elections
The Media Professionals for Buhari, Audu Sule, Ta’al 2019 “MEDPRO 4 BUASTA’AL 2019” which is an affiliate of the Buhari Support Center Abuja said its unalloyed commitment is for the APC since it is the party in which Nigeria’s future is assured. It named Alhaji Ibrahim Habu Sulaiman and Victoria N. Ikeano as Coordinator and Secretary of the group respectively. Other officials of the group include: Rabiu Abdullahi, as deputy coordinator, Sumaila Umaisha, assistant coordinator and Abdulaziz Yusuf, assistant secretary social media.
