Bishop Kukah has made a name in and outside Nigeria, as an anti Hausa Fulani controversy seeking Priest, who made an intellectual
popular career in Nigeria, as a sentimental Christian clergy, whose articles and public presentations are incomplete, without attacking Muslims in the North,
whose twin identity he has also satanically copyrighted to be synonymous with the Hausa Fulani, as his punching bag, as well as blames worthy target and fall guys, as sources for all the bad and evil things that befall Nigeria!
And in conformity with his established doctrine of hateful spats , Bishop Kukah’s speech to the 2018 Graduating Unijos Students touched my raw nerves, because, it seems many atimes, the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese,( sent to destabilize the Caliphate?), tend to be too insensitive to his host community, by loosing his sense of religious balance and objectivity, which leaves him groping aimlessly in the dark alleys of hypocrisy, searching for spiritual relevance, which, he ought to have normally avoided, if he had only spiritually purged, both himself and mind, of saturated bigotry and unsavory spiritual prejudices, with a well defined and predictable standard scale of objectivity, based on the universal principles of fairness doctrine and value driven coefficients.
I think and earnestly believe, that, some of us, who are Muslims deserve some human respects from the Bishop, especially those Muslims like some of us, who erroneously thought ,that, we are ideologically affiliated with him;,though he has now confirmed as well as exposed to us, his status, to be more of an avid hypocrite, with an incurable pathological grudges against the North, and particularly Hausa Fulani, whom he despises with a passion, having thematically adopted this hatred as his favourite leitmotif and perpetual raw materials, in his emotionally inclined, and subjectively post colonialist’s crusader advocacy propaganda, with a persecuting mentality, deliberately conceived to
embarrass and blackmail only Muslims, as well as tarnish the good image of Islam, which negative consistency makes Bishop Kukah, a morally unqualified and disappointing Vicar of Christ, with his somewhat, one-sided evangelical hostility, that tend to portray him as an unabashed hypocrite, or vengeful bigot, which are both Antichrist.
However, be that as it may be, let me at this juncture, take Bishop Kukah down memory lane, in a flurry of epic flashbacks of historic significance, to show and prove to him and others like himself, “about how things used to be in those days of humanitarian interfaith, in the North, when, despite differences of tongues, tribes and faiths, our forefathers forged a common spiritual doctrine of being your brother’s keeper, by still remaining united and bonded, which helped us to blend, by fusing our sense of collective humanity”, which knotted umbilical chord assured us, of our common destiny which cannot be separated or obviated!
The now brainwashed and emotionally saturated Bishop of Sokoto Caliphate or Diocese, depending on personal motives and motivations, may, or may be not, now remember, or recall his first adventure in book writing or is it his earliest initiations into the writers’ fraternity club, sometimes ago, around the middle 80’s, or there about, when you scheduled your first book launching ceremony in Lagos, which caused a young family member in Keffi, Nasarawa State, to cleverly display an adventurous act of youthful exuberance, to honour you, as one of your loyalists and diehard admirer, then, an NTA Abuja Staff, who used to idolise you, so much as a role model, regardless and irrespective of your ethno religious identity!
Anyway, let me fast track the narrative by summarising this long story, with an abridged version of how the young Muhammad Kabiru Abubakar, (now an adult and a Keffi Emirate Council Title Holder , as the Danmalikin Keffi), whose father was also, one of the strongest stalwarts, as well as Pillars of Aminu Kano radical leftwing leaning NEPU, who secretly outsmarted his family to defer a Sister’s marriage ceremony by a week, just to enable him accommodate his intended plan, to attend your earlier scheduled book launch debut, in Lagos!
For those ignorant about the prevailing Nigerian political environment of that era, the story of the epic escape drama by Alhaji Tanko Sisina, Danmaliki’s deceased father, who was a famous NEPU radical legend in Keffi of his time, who dared and stood firm, against some unwholesome and unholy anti Talakawa enacted policies by the then Feudal Authorities, which assigned its Native Authority Feudal Squads of Royal Calvary, who chased and pursued him on horseback, from Keffi to Kano, trekking through the uncharted tortuous footpaths.
This is a story of ideological persecution, bravery, courage and sacrifice, waiting to be reenacted for our television sedated youths, to learn about the practical side of personal convictions and heroism, which I also believe, the youthful exuberance displayed by the young Danmaliki, to reschedule a family wedding plan,in deference to your book launch, in Lagos, qualified as a memorably epochal sacrifice, as well as a deeply passionate expression of interest, which can both be used, to deemphasize, as well as demystify your opinionated and self-indulgent-cum-imposed ethno religious propaganda about the North and Hausa-Fulani interfaith relationships, then and now!
My dear Bishop, there are many of us, who grew within a strongly united cultural and religious environment in the North, who, often times, find your controversial misrepresentations alien, as much as too romantically partisan, irreligiously pedantic and judgementally out of context: as well as deliberately dogmatic, which only motive, we strongly believe, is designed to opportunistically allow you display and propagate your revived and revisionist post colonial evangelical crusades as well as superfluously conceited and foreign sponsored , rightwing intellectual policies of revived post colonial, evangelical crusades.
For your information, it may interest you, to learn and know, that, even as I write this
article, to repudiate some of your ancient claims, I want to expose you to some basic truths, that have not been broken, not only in the North, but across all the geographical and emotional boundaries, that had been made to frustrate and undermine our national cohesion and unity, by ambitious elements in the society, like you , and your political associates and companions in the PDP, who have economically and morally looted this country, against the wishes of the poor masses who are the majority shareholders in the country but who the ruling elites, including religious leaders, and their ex military Generals and political rogues, of all faiths and tribes have personally rendered to be perpetually dependent, parasitic and poor, until thy kingdom come!
You may also be shocked to discover and know, that, there are many great and responsible Nigerians, my dear Bishop Kukah, who think and act like the Prophets in the Holy books, beyond your rigid boundaries of hypocrisy and can’t!
There are spiritually responsible and reasonable Nigerians I have directly and indirectly associated with ,or gotten involved in their positive implementations of broadband Pan Nigerian patriotism,as well as humanitarian fellowship, such as captured below, which remains as Umbroken Truth and stands as a testimony against your liturgical doctrine of Spiritual Fallacies, so to say, which are at variance with your negative perceptions and valedictory diatribes against some of our obvious reality ,which ,more often than not, you ignore,in preference to condescending to some compromisedly abstract inclinations and contemporaneous superficialities from other countries and group relationships , without scrutinising the existence of a strong and vibrant made in Nigerian brands”, which most Nigerians, partularly the brainwashed and seduced elites, fail to appreciate, nor Glorify, as a national treasure.
Imagine the secret pact and facts about the Beroms on the Plateau, who traced their historical and ancestral origin to the Sokoto Caliphate, which, unknown to many ignorant Nigerians, made the Sardauna to have soft spot for the Plateau People so much, that, virtually during Sardaun’s time as premier of Northern Nigeria, Jos in present Plateau State, had the largest concentrations of Federal government agencies and Patastatals!
Has any Nigerian elite ever reflected on how close the late Lt. Colonel Pam , a fine Berom military officer was to the Sardauna, who was also killed by the pro Biafran coupists in thesame 1966 massacre, despite being a pious and devout Christian?
How many Christian clergies like Bishop Kukah and company, try to know that, the late Berom murdered officer was married to a Muslim wife, from Kano, whose mother is still alive and fondly called Hajiya by her illustrious grand children, including a reputable female Banker,Kaneng Setley Daze, still happily married to our bosom friend from Langkang Dakum Shown’s home town also?
How many people, who talk out of ignorance about lack of mentoring and mentors , were aware, that, the Alhaji Abdu Abubakar, the late Walin Keffi, nicknamed Keffi “1” by his friends and classmates like the Late. General Emmanuel Abisoye was responsible for the Massive Recruitments of Tivs, and Northern minorities into the Federal Civil Service, as well as Northern Nigerian integrated service, when he served under General Hassan Usman Katsina, as the Executive Secretary of ICSA- Interim Common Services Agency of Northern Nigeria, during which the School of Basic Studies and other critical empowerment projects and developmentally inclusive programs were expanded across the nooks and crannies of the old North?
. How many people are aware that Governors Abdullahi Adamu and incumbent Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura made Professor Adamu Bakie and Bishop HASSAN Kukah to midwife their value aspirations for the sustainable growth and development of Nasarawa State University, aka, NSUK, Keffi, over and above petty personal prejudices, idiosyncrasies, spiritual fallacies, and dogmatic fancies !
When all is said and done, and all the chips are down, I am proud to be a Nigerian who has socialised extensively across the broad spectrums of the Nigerian society, where, I met and mingled freely, with Nigerians from several socio- cultural, economic and ethno religious backgrounds, et al, with whom we related and still are, interactively acting as closely knitted and homogeneous Nigerians, irrespective of tribal, or religious diversities.
For instance, and for the avoidance of any doubts, I can proudly announce, that, starting from the home front,in my Angwan Doka Village , in Kokona and previously Keffi, even in death, my colleague Nansel Nimiyel from NTA Kaduna, who covered my mother’s funeral service for NTA, can give the public a vivid and eye witness account of the emotional testimonies of the ethno religious diversities during the occasion!
And, in Keffi town, where I went for my Senior Primary School, living in my late uncle’s house , the late Ambassador Muhammad Suleman, where I stayed was like a Transit Camp, for indigent Mada, Afo, Yeskwa, Gwandara and Afo students, who came to the only existing Primary School, far from their homes and relations but whose generous magnanimity made these indigent peasant students from the villages to also smile, as they acquired knowledge without tears.
As for the late Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Muhammad Chindo Yamusa II, who acted like a good father to all his students and treated them like his children, I cannot ignore e his strategic role in my educational and professional career.
I can never also, forget his tantalizing encouragements, which boosted my ego, by always nicknaming me “Dangidan Wole Soyinka” – meaning, Wole Shinka’s Disciple, by which divine grace, encouraged my choice of Drama and Theatre Arts Study at the University of Ibadan UI; One the one of the greatest University in the world.
The late emir of Keffi and his cousin, the late Abdu Abukar, the Walin Keffi were wonderful people who brought hope to many indigent people, pupils and students, of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds.
I believe, even the pramonut Ruler of the Eggon tribe, Abene Bala Angbazo, as well as Distinguished Senator Solomon Ewoga, can muster the courage to vouch for these secret revelations!
I am not yet done, about my early childhood and the good community fraternity that existed during those good old days ,before corrupt politicians and drunken soldiers altered the collective humanitarian fellowship!
As far back as over 50 years, when I started visiting relations in Doma and Lafia, where I was privileged to increase my socialist inclinations and awareness, the Patriarch and Matriarch of the Almakura family were role models, whose generosity knew no bounds,so much that, during Sallah festivities, the Elder Almakura will give out almost, what is left from his slaughtered rams to neighbours and less privileged, before scampering to his eldest son’s house,to supervise the effective implementation of the same spiritual directives.
Well, I believe, Ahaji Ibrahim Mai gl is a better recquinteur,to tell the role of the Almakura family in the economic ,social and political sphere of Lafia and its environs including the entire territory called Benue Plateau in the North Central geopolitical zone. Which almost cost the Sarkin Kwandare his life, having been implicated in an anti Abacha phantom coup, after being falsely framed, because of his bonds with the Lantang Generals, aka Lantang Mafia.
However, nobody can forget or underrate Alhaji Ahmadu Almakura’s role in the political dynamics and rise of the indigenous communities, whichever way you choose to identify or refer to, as North Central, or Middle Belt, (for those with biased religious inclinations, like the Bishop of Sokoto Caliphate, Mathew Hassan Kukah, Jerry Gana, Dan Sulaiman and a host of others, on whose opionatedly subjective accounts of interfaith relationships, one is compelled to respond with such a lengthy rejoinder,in order to correct the wrong and inaccurate impressions by our morally indoctrinated agents of disunity, from sparking colonies of anger and mutual hostilities in our country, to frustrate and prevent our concerned PMB together with his Vice president, PYO-Pastor Yemi Osinbanjo and other nationalists and patriotic members of the APC pan Nigerian BIG LEAGUE family, from building bridges and actualising their positive missions for national renewal and rebirth.
Furthermore, let me make this best kept secrect out ,in the public domain, to discredit political Touts, who have been advertising, hawking and promoting fake news, selling a dummy called religion, when during the 2011 gubernatorial elections, Governor Umar Tanko Almakura, publicly promoted an Eggon Christian Candidate, while the late Alhaji Abdu Abubakar and Wallin keffi patronized and supported another Eggon for the Governorship position and he was treated like a family member not a politician of the Christian faith.
To cap it all, I can boastful authoritatively reveal ,that, I and some unbiased Hausa-Fulani, Gwandara, enlightened Muslims and other positive minded Nigerians assembled over 300 imams for the Eggon Christian Candidate pf pir choice during the 2011 Hibernate contests on Nasarawa State.
Now , it is a known fact , an open secret, that, there are many Muslim worshippers, with equally proportional ratio, amongst booth the Eggons and and Mada tribes who are internally and systematically discriminated against by their own elites!
Now, if one may ask: who has forgotten history and is now shouting hysterically about Islaminisation of Christians, on Nasarawa Nasarawa state?
Let’s I forget, let me also reveal another I to my here, that, despite the heightened propaganda by the self serving ethno religious champions in our beleaguered State, I first met Bishop Baka as a priest in the 1980’s in Umaru Tanko Almakura’s house , located near the premises of the Headquarters of the Catholic Diocese, almost 30 years ago and can vividly recall Almakura’s habits of visitations to pay courtesy homage, in line with the prevailing spiritual injunction by Prophet Muhammad(SAW) to neighbours and our brothers, Peoples of the Books!
Now, Like I earlier postulated, I feel honoured by God,to have been born a Nigerian and in my small tiny village of Doka, famous to be an ancient center for traditional crafts of Rini( Tie&Dye Clothes fabrics) , Weaving,Farming,Minerals explorations, and popular convergence centre for radical political activism which hosted the likes of our past heroes, such as Aminu Kano ,the Awolowo’s, Paul Unongo’s, Abubakar Riki, Aliyu Akwe Doma’s, et al, despite feudal threats and intimidations.
My Village was also famous as an Islamic center, with Madarasas established by famous Scholars from Kano, Zaria, Katsina, exce tera!
I feel indebted to the late Emir of Keffi Alhaji Muhammadu Chindo Yamusa II , my wonderful Teacher whose inspiring words of encouragements made me to explore my future career at the famous University of Ibadan School of Drama where I was also fortunate to have met the late Professor Dapo Adelugba who did not only comfort and treated me like my academic mentor but went out of his kind ways to secure admission for me, at the prestigious University of Georgia, even without my knowledge, until the final stage of the process.
Neither can I forget my Minna born U. I course mate, professor Duro Oni, now ,Deputy Vice Chancellor and Professor at Unilag!
And at NTA, I cannot talk without making references to my bosses, such as Dr. Tonnie Iredia, Dr. Victoria Ezeakoli, Maryam Bewell, Late Patrick Ityohegh,, Dr. Tom Adaba, Mr Peter Igho, Late Mr Jimmy. F. Atte, and Timaus Mathias, who though, all Christians , accommodated and managed our relationship without attacking my diversity?
It is also impossible for me to forget my Oga Minister, Retired Commodore Lamba Gwom, who endured and tolerated “my undue radicalism”, to have, disrespectfully arranged special sessions, with Radical egg heads) like Ken Sarowiwa, Dr. Victoria Ezeakoli, Professors Dapo Adelugba, Joel Y. Adedeji and Bayo Oduneye, et al, : without his prior knowledge, nor approval but nonetheless, consented to chair the sessions, without the typically adamant demeanor, and arrogant display of power hubris by most of our egotistically proud and balloon-inflated type of Nigerian officials, at the time, we were busy mobilising and planning the takeoff of the then new National Academy for Arts and Letters, which equivent, the National Academy for Sciences had been operationally in existence, several years earlier!
My fellow patriotic Nigerian compatriots! I know many Nigerians who are good Christians but not inclined to sectarian bigotry nor sectional hypocrisy , as tacitly being promoted and secretly evangelicalised and advocated by some unpatriotic elements whose motives and motivations, for better or worse, is to turn. Nigeria into another Rwanda, where religious leaders used their churches to preach disunity , and instigate in the same comparative manner like Bishop Kukah has been extensively doing himself.
I have now vividly exposed Bishop Kukah’s hypocrisy, as well as reasons to object to his inflammatory ( Bishop Kukah’s ), false and uncharitable propaganda!
Indeed, it is noteworthy to observe here, that, the way and manner Bishop Kukah has been preaching spitefully against Hausa , Fulani and Muslims, it may not be difficult, nor out of place, based on his prejudices, utterance’s and pronouncements, to classify and crown him as another Boko Haram mastermind from Southern Kaduna.
In conclusion, there are so many patriotic Nigerians, Christians such as Senator George Akume, Dr Tonnie Iredia former, DG NTA, Clement. D. Ebri, Former Governor of Cross River State. As well as Senator Godswill Akpabio Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state, as well as Retired General Paul Tarfa , Professor Daniel Gwary and Comrade Abba, the young and dynamic Idoma motivational Guardian Leader,of the Northern Youth Assembly of Nigeria- NYAN,whose collective unyielding support for President Muhammadu Buhari are inspired by his dogged commitments to integrity, as well his passionate determination to fight corruption , which the PDP Looters and several of their moles in APC are apposed to.
. . As we all know, majority of Nigerians prefer to be with , not against, God’s injunctions, which President Buhari’s positive change is all about.
I hope, I will have time to make my debut in book publication ,soon, to contribute with my favourite list of great Nigerians, Muslims and Christians who are united behind PMB, to fight against all the evil forces, undermining our nation’s collective resolve as well as firm resolution, to create a better ,just and humanitarian society, where human fellowship prevails, over and
above parochial and Spiritual Fallacies,by religious demagogues, of all faiths and tribes,so help us God!!!
