All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State has expressed optimism over President Muhammadu Buhari and APC’s outright victory at the forthcoming 2019 general elections in the state.
Making the assertion on the occasion of the swearing in ceremony of new commissioners and the flag-off of APC campaigns in the state at the Lafia square in Lafia the state capital, Chairman of the APC Campaign Council in the state, Honourable Ahmed Aliyu Wadada stated that henceforth all the loopholes responsible for PMB not winning in Nasarawa during the last two presidential polls have been taken care of.
Hon. Wadada, who commended the state Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura, whom he described as the architect of modern Nasarawa State, explained that APC in the state is a solidly united front as all aspirants that contested alongside Engr A. Sule the state governorship flag-bearer have come together to work as one for the APC.
Wadada, former three-term member House of Representatives who was one of the aspirants that contested for the governorship slot during the APC primaries, noted that the state remains predominantly APC and the political home of the President that produced the only governor in the country in 2011 from Buhari’s CPC.
Earlier, the Director General, Buhari, Engr Sule Campaign Organisation, Senator John Danboyi, anchored the premise that the state is an APC state, saying out of the 147 wards in the state the APC had won 109 in the last polls, assuring that come 2019 the party would even double its previous achievements for outright victory.
Senator Danboyi then called on stakeholders and all party supporters to henceforth go back to their units so as to resume house-to-house campaigns in earnest to ensure victory both at the governorship and presidential levels.
Similarly, the APC state chairman, Hon. Philip Tatari Shekwo reiterated the resolve of the party to deliver the state for APC from top to bottom and equally called on all members and supporters to resume intensive door-to-door campaigns.
In his address at the occasion, the APC state governorship candidate, Engr Abdullahi Sule stated that if elected he intended to carry on the good works of the Almakura administration with a view not only to build on that, but also to do even better.
Engr Sule promised to bring companies to the state to provide thousands of jobs, while reiterating his resolve to ensure women would continue to get financial assistance to boost their businesses as already started by the APC from the centre.
The state APC flag-bearer maintained that just as he had worked to bring in progress to African Petroleum, AP which had N23bn negative balance sheet to positive balance sheet within five years he would also bring positive development to the state to take the state to next level.
The double-barrelled occasion had in attendance the state governor and his deputy, Umaru Tanko Almakura and Silas Ali Agara, all the APC aspirants that contested all the key positions from the governorship slot, the senatorial down to the House of Assembly slots across the state, while the national chairman of the APC was equally present as the Special Guest of Honour.
