All Progressives Congress, APC flag-bearer in Nasarawa State, Engr A.A. Sule has commended Media Professionals for Buhari, A.A. Sule, Ta’al and all APC candidates support group for their efforts in ensuring the success of APC in the state.
The state governorship candidate gave this commendation at the Unveiling ceremony of the group office in Lafia on Wednesday.
Engr Sule stated that for the first time he seeing a group of journalists forming an organisation with their own resources for purposes of supporting candidates of a particular political party, stressing that this coming together can at best be described as ‘novel’
Engr Sule who charged journalists in the state to always cross check their facts before going to press however, admonished them to upheld virtues of reporting nothing but the truth. Engr Sule who is also the Barayan Lafia, further cautioned journalists against mischievous reportage, pointing out that development reporting is the vogue now everywhere in the world. The APC state governorship candidate, who had earlier unveiled the office also donated the sum of N250,000 as his own widow’s mite for the continued activities of the group.
Earlier, state Coordinator, Media Professionals for Buhari, A.A.Sule, Ta’al and APC, Ibrahim Habu Suleiman, explained.that the group was conceived to render unwavering “support to Buhari, A.A Sule, Ta’al as well as others contesting under APC platform. He observed that the union of both the former and present governors in the state should sent shock waves through the various camps of the opposition parties and noted that with the continued support of the masses of the population victory for the APC is certain.
Habu Suleiman, who thanked Alhaji Rayyanu Bala for initiating the formation of the group and for donating office space equipped fully with modern journalism gadgets also appealed for assistance from the APC hierarchy and other party faithfuls towards ensuring the success of the group’s activities across the state.
In his own address at the occasion, the state APC secretary, Hon. Aliyu Bello also appreciated the activities of the Group, saying that members of the group have distinguished themselves as patriots who have made a name for themselves through hard work as against those journalists only interested in material benefits.
While calling on other journalists to emulate the good gesture of the group, the APC state Secretary warned against politicisation of activities of individual journalists, adding that the party would not wed into the incidence that led to the hospitalisation of a journalist practicing in the state.
Also speaking at the occasion, Special Adviser to the state Governor Urban Development, Arc Stanley Buba, who was also full of praises for the media group, however pointed out that the work of the group would not end after the 2019 elections, but would mark the beginning of another phase of the group’s activities.
The Special Adviser then pledged a monthly donation of N10,000 for data and a lap top as well as an initial personal donation of N50,000 to assist the group in its activities.
