Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule has stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among the diverse sections of the society as the electorate vote in the governorship and house of assembly elections on Saturday, March 9.
The APC candidate made this appeal on Thursday while addressing a press conference at his campaign office along Jos Road in Lafia, the state capital.
Engr A.A.Sule who maintained that peace is the basic prerequisite for any development and progress, explained that APC remains the only party that can truly develop the state to greater heights.
According to him, with the achievements of the APC under President Muhammadu Buhari at the centre and Governor Almakura in the state in terms of improved security, massive infrastructural development, the diversification of the economy, etc, there is no better party to rescue this state and indeed the nation from years of (PDP’s) misrule and stagnation than APC.
On the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state, the APC candidate declared that he would never oversee a situation whereby workers are paid in percentages while retirees stay for long without getting their gratuities and receiving only half of their monthly pension.
He explained that in order to take care of that he intends to bring in large companies with a view to industrialising the state.
The APC candidate reassured that as an engineer and industrialist, he would bring about the gradual industrialisation of the state wherein not only thousands of jobs would be created to ease unemployment, but would also improve the general wellbeing of the people, as well as well as to increase manifold the internally generated revenue so as to address lingering problems of funding.
On the state of preparedness of INEC to ensure free, fair, credible and transparent elections, Engr Sule called on the national electoral body to plug the loopholes detected during presidential and national assembly elections so as to convince Nigerians of its readiness.
He then called on the electorate to come out en masse to vote in the APC in the state so as to benefit more from the APC government at the centre.
