Collapse Of Education In Northern Nigeria: Needs To Adhere To Prof. Ladan Sherehu’s Policy Option

By Abdulkarim Muhammad Abdullahi. To the best of my knowledge,the problems of Teaching and Teacher Education in Nigeria has to do with Obasanjo’s poorly conceived, haphazardly designed and corruptly saturated initial take off ,

of the Universal Basic Education Program(IUBE) planning, process and procedures,

which gave birth,whether intentionally, or unintentionally, to the establishment of the ” Teacher Professional orientation and pedagogical Training Center at Kaduna..,called NTI.

I must admit,here with all sense of objective modesty and honour, that, when Nasir. El- Rufa’i, the embattled visionary talents go getter Governor of Kaduna State,

commenced his evaluation and efficiency compliance appraisal of Primary School Teachers in his domain,

I thought and had the guts feelings, his actions could have been triggered by his proximity to the Prof. Amin Sherehu’s NTI,

one of the best educational derives Center of Excellence, for Teacher’s skills acquisition and pedagogical practices in Nigeria, I must confess.

I had participated in several of NTI’s program series and can testify, that, it remains the most reliable champion of Teacher Training and capacity building and development,

with a blueprint that is designed to meet, both international standards, global best practices, as well as national assignment needs and peculiar circumstances,

like what Mallam Nasir El- Rufa’a attempted to implement, until his unavoidable reform efforts were stonewalled,

by our rubble rousing trouble shooting anarchists ,

sponsored by corrupt looters,to undermine project that is a virtual policy doctrine in all countries of the Former British Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations?

I feel sad to reveal, that,in India,there is a totally new viable vision set as its agenda: making accessibility to education as its priority policy, which encourages establishments of schemes that enforce establishment of .Schools, as ” a mass wall less centres of exchange of knowledge” where the astronomical costs of gigantic schools structures ,hardware components are substantially reduced I’m favour of the software infrastructural components, that affect the learner,the learning environment and the facilitators!

The long an short of it,is that, the Indications arising from multiple research findings confirm the symbolic relevance between increased corrupt practices and the walled infrastructural components of the financially overwhelmed system!

My final take is that,as the point man of vision and positive change, he should invite the very hardworking and dynamic target-setting Prof Sherahu for some serious self assessments and point blank revelations,as well as franktalks,with Northern Governors,to tell them the sad news,about, “the collapse of education in Northern Nigeria” and the urgent demand for a declaration of a state of emergency on the educational sector in Northern Nigeria!

It is a pity, that,this coming Saturday, some ignorant and emotionally subjective parents in Benue, Bauchi, Sokoto,and elsewhere, would sdly be bribed with some pitance,to mortgage the future destinies of their children, even when,the PDP’S candidates are the most perversive perpetrators of corporate corrupt,with many in arrears of over 12 months of unpaid teachers/workers salaries, pensions and gratuity!
.. How else do you describe serially sadistic and irrational insensitivity?

This is Food for thought for voters who have forfeited the future of their children to established thieves and looters in the North.
