The Supreme Court on Wednesday affirmed the election of Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, bringing to an end litigations concerning the 2019 Governorship election.
The seven-man panel of the apex court led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili dismissed the appeal filed by David Ombugadu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging Engineer Sule’s victory at the March election.
The court held that the appellant failed to prove allegations of substantial non-compliance in the election, thereby upholding the verdicts of the election petition tribunal as well as that of the Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State.
