COAST Has No Better Option Than Dr Maikeffi– Group

A group known as ” Association of Excellence in Higher Institutions” has observed that the college of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia has no better person to continued as rector than Dr Yahaya Musa Maikeffi. A statement issued in Lafia on Sunday signed by Secretary of the group Sunday Daniel observed that since its establishment some four decades ago, the College of Agriculture Lafia has never experienced more development in terms of physical and human development than during the tenure of Dr. Yahaya Maikeffi. While indicating that all these achievements are verifiable facts, the statement further noted that since his assumption as provost and later as rector, Dr. Yahaya Musa has never been found wanting in all aspects of the progress of the college, adding that contrary to the insinuations in some some quarters, Dr. Yahaya Musa Maikeffi didn’t serve as rector in his initial appointment but provost, which is entirely different from what the detrectors are saying. The statement also noted that it is on record that Dr. Maikeffi has not inherited any projects; upon his assumption, all that is presently on the ground are his initiatives, saying that
For the benefit of doubting Thomases, Dr. Maikeffi built or constructed many projects. Observing that among the achievements of Dr Maikeffi are: an implement shed, an agribusiness shop opposite the football field, the renovation and equipping of an ICT center, the renovation of a mobile workshop, the renovation of a two-student hostel, the construction of a fishery laboratory, upgrading the administrative block,Upgrading the status of the college from monothecnic to polytechnic, leading to its inclusion among Tetfund beneficiaries. The group explained that Dr. Maikeffi’s achievement did not stop there but went to the extent of employing 300 teaching and non-teaching staff to further boost the academic performance of the college. Other achievements include the renovation and upgrading of the institution library to a state-of-the-art library, the renovation of the HRE department, and the renovation of the college clinic. “Least we forget Dr. N. D saingbe was a deputy for over 10 years, acting for 4 years, and substantive for 4 years.Eng. J.Y. Y kuje was deputy for 4 years and acting for 2 years, but due to his poor performance, he was not confirmed and was replaced” the statement further added. In view of the above narratives, according to the group, the College of Agriculture Lafia has no better person to serve as rector than Dr. Yahaya Musa Maikeffi, saying ” He is the man who built the college into what it is today, and by convention, he should be allowed to continue from where he stopped. He is, in fact, a game changer” the statement concludes.
