I don’t think that it’s impossible for Kwankwaso and Ganduje to unite and work together again
They worked together before and they can work together again, for their personal interests
The simple reason being what is at stake is not the welfare and well being of the poor citizens of Kano State but the personal interests of the two gladiators
Ganduje had the upper hand before the election and Kwankwaso had the upper hand after the Supreme Court judgement.
Tinubu wanted both Kwankwaso and Ganduje to work with him after the election. It was widely believed at that time that both of them would be appointed to the Tinubu Cabinet if the truce pact had worked as Tinubu desired.
As it turned out, both lost the Ministerial bid but Ganduje was rewarded by Tinubu for his impressive effort in garnering huge numbers of votes for Tinubu in the Presidential election.
Tinubu did not win Kano but he did not loose either, because the gap between Tinubu and Kwankwaso in Kano was very very close, indeed too close for comfort
As Ganduje was rewarded by Tinubu with the plum office of the APC National Chairman, Kwankwaso rewarded himself by producing the governor in the person of his in law Abba Kabir Yusuf
Now, Kwankwaso is in control of Kano politics and Tinubu will be desperate to win Kano in 2027 but Ganduje is no longer in a position to deliver in 2027, any thing close to what he delivered for Tinubu in 2023, with the NNPP in control of the government and the dominant politics of Kano State.
Tinubu is a calculative and intelligent politician who knows what he wants and how to get them at any material point in time in his political career.
President Tinubu is rightly referred to as a master strategist and a colossus in the political landscape of Nigeria
As things stand in Kano today, Ganduje’s political relevance has been hugely eroded by his failure to instal Gawuna as Governor and the APC in the circumstances, stand the very high risk of being marginalized in Kano ahead of the 2027 presidential election, which Tinubu has a high stake in.
It’s therefore not surprising to discerning political pundits that Tinubu should now show more interest in Kwankwaso than in Ganduje.
As at today, Kwankwaso is the new and beautiful bride that should catch the eyes of any prospective presidential candidate who has interest in capturing Kano in the 2027 election
I reckon that judging from his not so good performance in the 2023 presidential election, it must have dawned on Kwankwaso that he is not yet ripe to win the Presidential race anytime soon.
Tinubu must have read this perfectly and hence decided to woo Kwankwaso to his side early enough before the other candidates planning to challenge him in the 2027 elections

And Kwankwaso himself has shown very early signs of his willingness to team up with Tinubu immediately after the 2023 election, which he lost to Tinubu
Kwankwaso had met Tinubu in Paris and in Abuja after the 2023 election to negotiate for a piece of the pie in Tinubu’s government and though for some reasons he was edged out by Ganduje at that time, it’s certain now that Kwankwaso will have his way into the Tinubu administration now, in their mutual interests
The fact that Kwankwaso and the NNPP did not go to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to challenge Tinubu’s victory at the polls, is a clear testimony to this fact
It was reported that Tinubu ordered Ganduje and the APC in Kano to reconcile with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
There is no better prediction that Kwankwaso now wants to rejoin the APC to work with and for President Tinubu ahead of 2027. It should not take a genius to put this together and arrive at the right conclusion
But make no mistake about it. All these are based not on serving the interests of the poor, common and ordinary citizens of Kano State.
It’s all about the personal, selfish, self serving and inordinate ambitions of the writers of the script and the dramatis personare to act it out on the political stage
