NSSG Restates Commitments To Partner With NIPR In Areas Of Strategic Information Dissemination

Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe has made a reaffirmation of the Nasarawa State Government’s collaboration with the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in attracting more developmental projects to the state, restating government’s readiness to site the first Public Relations Finishing School in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The media aide to the NIPR in Nasarawa state Shuiabu Usman in a statement issued in Lafia said Dr. Akabe reaffirmed this when he received the Nasarawa State Executive Council of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on a courtesy visit at his office in Lafia.

The statement noted that  recently Governor Abdullahi Sule had hosted the national leadership of the NIPR to brainstorm on modalities and facilitate the speedy take-off of the institution, adding that government expressed commitment to siting the project.          It also noted that some structures are being considered for quick take-off, insisting that no efforts would be spared in having the PR Finishing School in the state as it would promote intellectual and socio-economic strides of the people resident in the state and PR professionals in the country.

Congratulating the NIPR leadership, Dr. Akabe called for more concentration on good image creation and management to make the state more viable for multi-sectoral development.

He said the government is partnering with the Institute to train its information officers and political appointees on the modus operandi of their official engagements to rebrand its narratives through strategic dissemination of information on its policies and developments in the state.

Dr. Akabe maintained that since the coming on board of the present administration, the government has demonstrated commitment to driving robust investment and business development through the ease of doing business and security provision, noting that the Sule-led administration has signed more Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) to develop structures highest since the creation of the state in 1996.

Earlier, State Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Compt. Joseph Attah Rtd, intimated their host on the strides made so far in the siting of the Public Relations Finishing School in Lafia, informing him that the school would be addressed as Public Relations and Leadership Academy.

He said the leadership of the NIPR is working unrelentingly to improve its government relations towards complementing the present administration’s efforts to develop the state for optimal productivity.

Attah assured that the siting of the Public Relations and Leadership Academy in the state would improve the revenue base of the state, promote its image and make it a destination for professional development.

The visit witnessed the presence of the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Ibrahim Angbolo, State Vice Chairman of the NIPR, Mukhtar Wakeel, Muhammad Lawal (Auditor), Hadiza Dahiru (Treasurer), Ibrahim Onawo (Public Relations Officer), Ahmad Jubrin Ibrahim (Ex-officio), Rayyanu Bala (Ex-officio) among others.
