Indeed, Bauchi State has never had it so good in terms of dividends of democracy until now and this is coming courtesy of their own son, an elderstatesman and a true national Ambassador of the State, Musa Umar Yashi.

Unlike some selfish and self centered leaders who consider only their own immediate Communities as beneficiaries, Mal Yashi is such a leader whose concern and preoccupation is the entire Bauchi State as one Constituency in the sighting and spread of developmental projects of the North East Development Commission NEDC.
As the Executive Director, Humanitarian Affairs Directorate of the NEDC, he ensures all parts of the State feels the impact of the Commission’s humanitarian intervention cutting across all sectors in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. Infact, Mal Yashi is now seen and regarded as the face of hope genuinely promoting the Tinubu developmental agenda throughout the State and indeed, the North East region.
At the moment, there are over thirty different projects being executed in different parts of the State, with Bauchi, the State Capital having the greater share of the projects.
Already, members of the House of Representatives Committee on NEDC have just concluded an inspection tour of the projects and commended the NEDC for initiating the projects which will bring rapid development to the State.
Accompanied on the tour by Management staff of the Commission, the Committe members include the Deputy Chairman AKY Makama who is also representing Alkaleri-Kirfi Federal Constituency and wife of late Yobe State Governor, Hon Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim. They all expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work and gave the NEDC a clean bill of health.
Among the projects include the construction of the Institute of Opthalmology Complex at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi, rehabilitation of the Shira Health Care Centre in Alkaleri as well as the construction of a new Community Health Care at Dagudi also in Alkaleri which have all been completed.
A new Surgical Ward is being constructed along with the rehabilitation of Skills Acquisition Centre at the National Obstetrics Fistula Center in Ningi as well as an Emergency Medical Complex at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi.
Under its Rapid Rural Development Initiative, NEDC is reconstructing the Alkaleri-Futuk Road along with culverts and drainages at the cost of N2.8b while the construction of another major Road, the Kirfi-Gombe-Abba Road is costing N11.6b.
Work is also progressing steadily on the Kaljanga-Bara-Tashan Turmi major bridges linking Bauchi and Gombe states through Kaljanga-Lawanti Villages.
Furthermore, three new Forestry nurseries with general silvicultural services have been established at Yashi town and Solar powered boreholes have been provided for the people of Bogoro, Bununu, Kafin Madaki, Jama’are and Darazo.
In the area of education and youth empowerment, Mal Yashi’s NEDC is now constructing Mega Schools of 2 Blocks of 12 Classrooms each for secondary school in Bauchi, Ningi and Giade representing the three Senatorial Districts of the State. Already, work on the projects have reached advance stage.
The Commission is also establishing three modern and comprehensive ICT Training Centres at the Tatari Ali Polythenic, Bauchi; State University Gadau and the College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Misau for the training of youths on Computer knowledge and application.
Still under education, the Departments of Food Science Technology and Mechanical Engineering as well as the twin Lecture Theatre of the Federal Polythenic, Bauchi are being rehabilitated, while the Tafawa Balewa University is having a new Fire Station being constructed by the NEDC.
For the people of Soro Local Government, they can now heave a sigh of relief as a new Cattle Market has been constructed in the area to boost cattle business with additional facilities including forty-eight (48) shops, mosque, two (2) blocks of toilets, one (1)
restaurant, two (2) sheds, one
(1) water outlet, gate house
with security posts and one (1)
solar powered borehole in Ganjuwa
LGA constructed by the Commission.

On his part, the Executive Director Humanitarian Affairs Directorate, Mal Musa Yashi has told the contractors handling the various projects in the State to sit up and ensure timely completion of all the projects in order to enable people of the State benefit more from such projects.
