Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa state has been selected and celebrated out of 106 Exceptional Nigerians who are still living in the diaspora and adding value to their host countries, as well as others like the Governor of Nasarawa State who returned home to contribute in making Nigeria a better place.
According to a statement issued by Director General Strategic Communications and Events Management office of the governor Mal Yakubu Lamai said that the National Diaspora Commission, the NDMA: National Diaspora Merit Award, the Federal Government has declared July 25th of every year as the National Diaspora Day (NDD) to recognize, acknowledge and celebrate the over twenty (20) Nigerians in the Diaspora who have contributed immensely to national development.
It said Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule was recognized in this regard as a diaspora Champion and conferred with the ward of ROLE MODEL IN ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP as a steadfast and committed patriot, who has shown deep rooted love, loyalty, sacrifice and dedication for Nigeria.
The statement indicated that the award was presented to H.E. Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule by Her Excellency, the first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Bola Tinubu where she applauded the diverse range of voices, talents and individuals who continue to speak up for our shared concerns as people who love our fatherland.
It said Governor Sule was represented by Director General; Strategic Communication; Yakubu Lamai who described Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule as the perfect example of a true success story from the diaspora having worked very hard in America, where he attained the position of Director: Business Development for Africa & the entire Middle East in one of the worlds largest oil conglomerates, before returning to Nigeria in 2000 to establish Sadiq Petroleum and thereafter becoming Managing Director/CEO of African Petroleum and attaining the peak of corporate governance as GMD: Group Managing Director of Dangote Sugar!
