As the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) sets up various subcommittees in the high-powered 79 member Project Implementation Committee being led by Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura for the establishment of the 1st ever global Public Relations and Leadership University, to be sited in Gudi of Akwanga Local Government Area; the DG Strategic Communication Yakubu Lamai led an early Exploratory team to visit His Royal Highness Sarkin Gudi, to assist government in sensitizing his local stakeholders about the coming University.

Yakubu Lamai informed Sarkin Gudi that NIPR aims to establish the Public Relations & Leadership University (PRLU) as a leading global institution that will inculcate excellence in scholarship, research and community service in the fields of public relations, communication, and leadership.

On his part, His Highness the Sarkin Gudi, Alh Sule Abdullahi assured that since he has been on the throne for the last 56 years from 1968 (as the longest serving traditional ruler in Nasarawa State); Gudi has never witnessed even a single intercommunal or ethnic clash which testifies to the fact that Gudi is a fountain spring of peace and one of the most peaceful, hospitable and serene communities in Nasarawa State.

The royal father assured that the selection of Gudi by NIPR as location for the public relations University will be justified as Gudi is a welcoming and inclusive community that is peace oriented and the best site for PRLU university which will soon become a beacon of excellence in shaping Africa’s future leaders and communication professionals.
