Governor Abdullahi Sule has Urged APC Supporters to prevail on Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada to return to the APC. Speaking during flagged off of APC zonal campaign rallies for November 2, local government elections in Nasarawa state held at Keffi yesterday, Governor Abdullahi Sule declared: “Tell Wadada to return to the APC. Since you are clamoring for Wadada, tell him to return to the APC. That is why Wadada is not with us here today. Let him return to our party first,”

On issue of monies paid by aspirants to APC as cost of forms and expression of interest, Governor Sule seized the opportunity of the zonal campaign rally to disclosed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to refund the five million naira and one and a half million naira charged aspirants that sought for the chairmanship and councillorship tickets of the party in the November 2 local government election.
According to the Governor, having lost in a keenly contested primary election organized by the party through consensus, the APC has resolved to refund the registration fees to all its aspirants who did not succeed in their bid for the ticket of the party.
In Keffi, Governor Sule called on members of the party to vote only candidates of the APC in the Saturday election, urging them not to take the opposition for granted.
He pointed out that even though the major opposition political party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not participating in the election due to internal wrangling and dwinding fortunes, members of the APC must not underrate the other political parties taking part in the election.
The Governor highlighted the successes recorded in the inclusiveness of women in politics, with at least 13 women confirmed as councillorship candidates in the November 2 elections.
“An issue came up regarding the participation of women. In the last dispensation, we had only one woman from Wamba as councilor. Today, we have at least 13 women who are going to be legislators. I think we have made significant progress and we look forward to that day where we are not talking about deputy chairmen, we are not talking about chairmen but more members in the house of assembly, national assembly and possibly a deputy governor or even a governor,” he said.
While assuring that the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) will fully mobilize election materials to every polling unit across the state, he stressed the significance of massive participation in the counci polls which will pointer to the APC’s victory in the 2027 governorship election.
The Governor particularly cautioned the members in Nasarawa West senatorial district to shun acts that could lead to disloyalty to the APC.
He used the opportunity to appreciate stakeholders from the zone, especially Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who doubles as the Chairman of the event, for their leadership during the primaries of the party.
In Akwanga, Governor Sule commended the organizers of the rally for the calmness and maturity demonstrated at the venue.
He equally appreciated the leadership of the APC, stakeholders and members of the party over the successful and peaceful conduct of the primaries through consensus, noting that it is to be expected that some of those who loss out during the exercise may feel aggrieved.
The Governor therefore called on all those who participated in the primaries but loss out to join hands with the candidates of the party to deliver the APC during November 2 polls.
He also appreciated the Chairman of the event, Senator Solomon Ewuga for providing the necessary leadership leading to the successful conduct of the primaries in the Nasarawa North senatorial district, particularly in Nasarawa Eggon.
The Governor urged members and supporters of the APC not to go into the election by assuming the party has already won but to go out enmasse to vote for the candidates of the party.
He took a swipe at the PDP saying the leading opposition is unable to participate in the council polls because of crises engulfing the party at both the national and state levels.
“The PDP has nothing to show for the years it held sway in Nasarawa State. We have everything to show, including in front of their houses. We are not bragging about that. We are just saying that that is our certificate. That is our proof that we think better. We commit better. We are more courageous, more competent, and more committed as far as the development of Nasarawa State is concerned,” he stated.
He warned that the opposition has seen nothing yet in terms of development as the state moves towards 2027.
While highlighting on the development strides of his administration in the zone, Governor Sule assured that his administration would open up Nasarawa North through the construction of roads in order to bring more development to the zone.
The Governor took out time to appreciate the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu and the chairmanship candidate of the APC in Akwanga Local Government Area, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, for choosing to bury their political differences and to work together for the success of the APC and development of Akwanga.
Highlights of the rallies saw the introduction of the chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the party by the Nasarawa State Chairman of the APC, Dr. Aliyu Bello and the subsequent presentation of the party’s flags to each of the chairmanship candidates from the two zones.
