The Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHDA,) Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, is currently attending a workshop in Abuja. aimed at boosting activities of primary health care in Nasarawa State. A statement issued in Lafia and signed by PA to the ES, Umar Namadi, indicated that the workshop is being organized with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Local Health System Sustainability Project, which selected some PHC’s in Nasarawa State for a fiscal space analysis and resources tracking study. According to the statement, the primary objective of the study was to track the flow of funds at the PHC level and evaluate the utilization and efficiency of the resources, identifying strengths and weaknesses in the current system. The statement further highlighted that the finding of the study is to serve as a guide to policymakers, health managers, and stakeholders about potential areas for improvement and strategic resource allocations. Other benefits of the study, according to the statement, were the state-level dissemination for stakeholders to validate and to develop a state-specific resource mobilization plan for PHC’s through a systematic mapping of health and non-health actors with budget lines for some PHC activities.
