2025 Budget: Senator Wadada Commends President Tinubu For Allocating Lion’s share To Security

During the Senate’s deliberations on the 2025 budget proposal, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu (Sarkin Yakin Keffi) lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold and visionary approach to addressing Nigeria’s economic and developmental challenges.

In his remarks, Senator Wadada emphasised that achieving success requires a high level of risk-taking, commending President Tinubu for demonstrating the courage and foresight to present a budget that “Nigerians have never seen before.”

He highlighted key areas of focus in the budget, particularly the strategic steps taken to tackle the nation’s persistent security challenges. Senator Wadada noted that the proposed allocations to security reflect a strong commitment to ensuring the safety and stability of the country.

Addressing the critical issue of electricity, Senator Wadada underscored its importance as a backbone of economic progress. “No nation progresses without power,” he said, commending the inclusion of significant provisions for infrastructural development in the energy sector. He stressed that prioritising electricity would lay the foundation for industrial growth and societal transformation.

However, Senator Wadada expressed his dissatisfaction with the level of responsiveness from ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to Senate inquiries. He called on the Senate leadership to address this issue to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the 2025 budget.

The senator  reiterated his support for the budget, describing it as a roadmap for Nigeria’s sustainable development. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in translating the ambitious plans into tangible outcomes for Nigerians.
