The Exexutive Secretary of NAPHDA Dr Usman Iskilu Saleh has warned on dangers of Environmental Pollution to our society. The Exexutive Secretary of NAPHDA who spoke while hosting officials of Environmental health Association of Nigeria Nasarawa Branch who paid him a courtesy visit in his office yesterday, observed that environmental health hazards can significantly impact our well-being.
Identifying unsafe and insufficient drinking water as sources of serious health problems, including gastrointestinal diseases and other infections, Dr. Iskilu also disclosed that exposure to air pollutants can cause respiratory diseases, heart disease, and even some certain types of cancer.
Dr Iskilu who was visibly elated with the visit further identified noise pollution as another sources of cardiovascular diseases also maintained that exposure to household products, such as pesticides, are potential dangers to our health. He noted that
climate Change can also exacerbate health risks in areas of heat-related illnesses such as respiratory issues from increased allergens, and the spread of other related illness. while calling on the officials of Environmental health Workers to intensifies campaign against these environmental dangers posing a serious threat to our health, Dr Iskilu pledged to work closely with Environmental health Workers in the state to ensure the safety our people. Earlier the leader of the delegation who is the Secretary of the Association in Nasarawa state, Mr Musa Adamu said they were in his office to congratulate him on his appointment and to assured him of their support and cooperation at all times.
