The Executive Secretary of NAPHDA, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, has enjoined the people of Lafia to imbibe the spirit of unity and togetherness in the interest of the development of Lafia and Nasarawa state. Dr. Iskilu, who gave the advice while going round some selected “Majalisa” within the Lafia metropolis, stressed that without unity, no meaningful development could be achieved. Dr. Iskilu, who visited almost all the most important Majalisa in Lafia with his preachment on the importance of unity, described development as multifaceted and plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life and economic stability in our societies. He indicated that development creates jobs, thus reducing unemployment and improving livelihoods. Dr. Iskilu, who praises Engr. Abdullahi Sule for his giant strides in bringing development closer to people, further maintained that development helps reduce dependency and makes economies of any given society more resilient and more vibrant. He observed that Engr. Sule’s efforts in investing in infrastructures, as can be seen in the construction of the flyover and underpass in Lafia, can greatlyImproves quality of life, which ultimately enhances living standards of our people. In addition, Dr. Iskilu also disclosed that Engr. Sule is doing his best in providing better education, healthcare, and social services to the people of Lafia and Nasarawa state as a whole.Dr. Iskilu, who on each visit acknowledges the support of Lafia stakeholders on his appointment, said he is deeply appreciative of their support and cooperation and assured, as chief executive of NAPHDA, he will do his best to ensure that he does not disappoint the governor who appointed him and the people of Lafia for their unalloyed support.In their remarks, the leaders of each MAJALISA visited so far, expressed gratitude to God Almighty and to Excellency Engr. A.A. Sule for finding one of their own, Dr. Iskilu, worthy of appointment as Executive Secretary of NAPHDA, and gave an assurance that they would continue to support and pray for the success of Engr. Abdullahi Sule’s administration as well as the success of Dr. Iskilu as Executive Secretary of NAPHDA.
