The executive secretary of NAPHDA, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, has charged the commandant of the Nigeria Civil Defence in Nasarawa State to consider as a priority the security of life and properties of citizens in line with their statutory functions. Speaking while receiving the commandant, Muhammad Kabir Ingawa, Dr. Iskilu said the importance of security for life and property cannot be overstated, as it forms the foundation of a stable and thriving society. Dr. Iskilu, who noted that the primary responsibilities of any security agency are to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens in such a manner as to prevent violence, crime, and other threats to personal safety, the executive secretary commended the civil defence in Nasarawa state for their steadfastness in the protection of government properties. He, however, maintained that the safety of government properties is essential for economic stability. On health, Dr. Iskilu, who is also a public health specialist, observed that when individuals feel secure, it invariably contributes to their mental health, saying that when people know they are safe, they experience less anxiety and stress. Earlier, the commandant of the civil defence Nasarawa command, Muhammad Kabir Ingawa, congratulated Dr. Iskilu on his appointment as executive secretary of NAPHDA. He pointed out that he was in his office to seek further areas of collaboration with NAPHDA and assured that his command, along with other security agencies in the state, will not relent in their efforts at stamping out all forms of criminality in the state.
