The Federation of Muslim Women in Nigeria (FOMWAN) offered a special prayer session for the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, for Allah’s guidance and protection on his new appointment. FOMWAN, led by their Amira Hajiya Hashiya Ahmad, said they were in his office to congratulate him and to seek collaboration with the agency to promote their social intervention programme in the area of education, health, and establishment of orphanage homes.

The Amira, who was represented by the Deputy Amira Hajiya Halima Yusuf, said the organisation health committee has been collaborating with the Ministry of Health and NAPHDA to carry out most of their medical outreach. She therefore commended the ES for recognising some of the agency programme, acknowledging the ES’s effort of involving one of their members in the last impact project training held in Akwanga.

Hajiya Ahmad disclosed some of the activities of FOMWAM in education, such as establishing many Islamiya schools in the state as part of their contribution to improving quality education in the state.

The Islamic women’s organisations, according to the Amira, also ran an orphanage home. She said they have one in Awe and another one in Keffi.

The women’s group informed the executive secretary of their forthcoming programme of helping the poor and the needy with clothes and foodstuffs during the Ramadan period, which informed ES ahead of their request letter in that regard.

Responding, the ES thanked FOMWAM officials for coming to congratulate him, saying that his appointment is for them, urging them to always advise him when they feel it is necessary.

In a related development, the ES received the commandant and officials of the First Aid Group of Fitiyyanu Islam of Nigeria under the leadership of Mallam Salihu Zakari.

The ES appreciated them coming to congratulate him, saying that he is with them and his position is for them, calling on them to always come closer to him with their advice.

Earlier, the leader of the aid group said they came to the ES office to congratulate him and pray for his success.
