Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has promised to give full support to the management of the State University, Keffi in making the institution a citadel of learning and one of the best institutions in the Country.

The Speaker gave the assurance while in audience with the management of the University led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Sada’atu Hassan Liman today in Lafia.

It would be reported that the visit had in attendance, Chairman, House Committee on Education and member representing Nassarawa Eggon West constituency, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala and members of the House Committee on Education as well as the management of the institution.

Speaker Jatau commended the management of the University for their efforts in developing the University and called for its sustenance.

According to him “We are proud of the university. We are proud of what you people are doing.

“We are going to discuss challenges facing the University to improve its standard

“I want to assure you of our support for improved standard of education in the school, the school is our pride and we will give it all the attention it deserves” the Speaker said.

Earlier, Prof Sa’adatu Hassan Liman while speaking with newsmen said funding is the major issues affecting the university.

“Funding remains our major challenge. The funding coming from the state is falling short.

” We have to argument to pay salary. That is why we decided to approach the assembly to seek for their assistance” she said.

Prof. Sa’adatu said the university’s liability needs urgent attention while calling for the House attention to address it.
