In the quest to deliver purposeful leadership and socioeconomic development in Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi Sule has sworn-in 18-member newly appointed special advisers.
Governor Sule sworn-in the special advisers at a colorful ceremony which held at the Government House on Monday.
The Governor equally inaugurated the chairman and members of the governing council of the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic (IMAP) Lafia.
In his speech during the event, the Governor said the new special advisers are expected to bring in their wealth of experience in order to facilitate the policies and programmes of his administration with a view to leaving Nasarawa State far better than he met it.
He said for this reason, the government was particularly meticulous and diligent in the choice of the appointees who would support the development strides of the administration.
“This is why I believe that the appointment of the Special Advisers would add value to our development endeavor, as their valuable advice would serve as stimulus towards improving the standards of living of our people. I have no doubt that this administration would count on the experiences and doggedness of the new Special Advisers towards the needed reinvigoration of the public service for enhanced productivity and efficiency,” he stated.
On the newly inaugurated governing council of the IMAP Lafia, Governor Sule charged the council, particularly the Chairman, Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman, a former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), to quickly settle down and set the machinery on motion for the appointment of a substantive rector for the institution.
He explained that the IMAP has been under an Acting Rector for the past six months following the outcome of the visitation panel which reviewed the state of affairs of the Polytechnic leading to the dissolution of the governing council and relief of the appointment of the rector.
“I also urge you to learn from the past mistakes. We have high respects and high regards for this institution because of the ultimate value it would continue to add as far as Nasarawa State development is concerned. Let me use the opportunity of this occasion to re-echo that this administration is disposed to the provision of basic amenities and acceleration of the development of our dear State;” he said.
