May Day: Senator Wadada Commends Nasarawa Workers, Describes Them as  Backbone of Progress, Development

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world in marking International Labour Day, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has praised the workers of Nasarawa State, describing them as the “unbreakable backbone” of the state’s development and progress.

In a statement issued in Lafia a copy of which was made available to Nasarawa Eye  Wednesday, Senator Wadada saluted the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of Nasarawa’s workforce, noting that their contributions are vital to the state’s socio-economic stability.

“Today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating the tireless dedication of our workers, especially in Nasarawa State. Their sweat waters the roots of our development. Their resilience fuels the drive for a more prosperous and inclusive society,” the statement read.

Highlighting the challenges faced by workers amid Nigeria’s economic difficulties, the senator lauded the courage and patriotism of Nasarawa’s civil servants across various sectors, including education, health, agriculture, and security.

He referred to workers as “the real architects of the New Nasarawa State” and pledged continued advocacy for improved working conditions, fair wages, and stronger welfare systems.

“As a Senator of the Federal Republic, I am not just a legislator; I am a voice for the people,” Sen. Wadada stated. “I remain irrevocably committed to the cause of the Nigerian worker.”

Wadada called on government agencies, private sector leaders, and labour unions to collaborate in reforming labour systems and enhancing productivity through human capital development.

He then call for unity and renewed commitment to the shared vision of a better Nasarawa State, where labour is valued and rewarded.

“Let this May Day not only be a day of rest, but a day of renewed resolve for us all to build a state where work is honored, and labour is rewarded. Together, we can elevate Nasarawa State to greater heights.”
