The Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NAPHDA) has issued a rejoinder to correct inaccuracies in media reports following a press briefing by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, held after the expanded State Executive Council meeting on Thursday, May 30, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Aminu Isiaka, the agency expressed concern over the misrepresentation of facts in the media coverage of the event.
According to the clarification, the media erroneously quoted the Executive Secretary as saying the state is poised to win N1.7 million in prize money through development partners such as the Dangote Foundation, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The correct amount, as stated by Dr. Saleh during the briefing, is actually $1.7 million, not in Nigerian Naira.
The agency also said that 85 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the 147 wards in the state are undergoing revitalization not 58 PHCs. Of these, three—PHC Akwanga, PHC Andaha, and PHC Toto—have already been completed.
“The general public is urged to disregard the erroneous content reported,” Mr. Isiaka stated, assuring that the Executive Secretary remains committed to ensuring the agency meets all regulatory standards aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery across the state.
The agency emphasized its dedication to transparency and urged media outlets to verify information before publication to avoid public misinformation.
