The event, held during the joyous Eid-el-Kabir festivities at the Emir’s Palace in Keffi, highlighted the enduring power of tradition as a platform for unity and progress.
Draped in regal attire symbolizing his esteemed title, Senator Wadada’s presence was a demonstration of his deep respect for Keffi’s rich heritage and his dedication to fostering harmony within Nasarawa State. Extending warm Eid greetings to the Emir and attendees, he lauded the Emir’s wisdom in recognizing the contributions of the emirate’s sons through the conferment of traditional titles, calling it both an “honour to heritage and a call to selfless leadership.”
Senator Wadada used the occasion to remind citizens of Nasarawa of the critical role peace and unity play in nurturing sustainable development. “We cannot build a prosperous society amidst conflict and division,” he emphasized, underscoring the need for collective commitment to brotherhood and harmony.
Beyond the celebration of culture, Senator Wadada reaffirmed his steadfast dedication to education and youth empowerment—cornerstones of his vision for the region’s future. He praised the recent inauguration of a school dedicated to the girl-child in Keffi as a landmark achievement in expanding educational opportunities to marginalized groups. Furthermore, he revealed plans to advance the Entrepreneurship Centre at Nasarawa State University, aiming to equip young people with practical skills that translate into economic independence and community growth.
The event was also marked by the Emir of Keffi’s conferment of traditional titles on distinguished individuals whose contributions have enriched the emirate. Honourees such as Ahmad Muhammadu Chindo Yamusa (Yan Dakan Keffi), Hon. Ibrahim Tanko, PhD (Santurakin Keffi), and Prof. Katuka Yaki (Wakilin Ilimin Keffi) were recognized in a ceremony that bridged the realms of tradition and modern achievement.
Gathering dignitaries from across Nasarawa State—including government officials, academics, community leaders, and members of royal families, the homage served as a vibrant reminder of the symbiotic relationship between political leadership and traditional authority. Senator Ahmed Wadada’s role as a unifying figure and advocate for grassroots development continues to strengthen these bonds.
