Former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Mohammad Ubandoma, has described Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as a dependable ally who has made significant sacrifices for the political stability of Nasarawa State.
Barr. Ubandoma, who received Senator Wadada at his country home in Lafia yesterday, recalled the events of the 2019 APC governorship primaries. He noted that Senator Wadada resisted immense pressure from fellow aspirants to disrupt the process when it became evident that Governor Abdullahi Sule was heading toward victory.
According to him, Senator Wadada’s courageous stance helped prevent a potential political crisis with possibly violent consequences. He praised Senator Wadada for his patriotism and courage, adding that their political and social journey together has been long and consistent.
Drawing an analogy from Senator Wadada’s past participation in various governorship contests, Barr. Ubandoma said: “Even in the classroom, if one comes third in the first exam and second in the next, what should we expect in the third exam?” he asked philosophically.
While Wishing Senator Wadada the best in his political journey, Barr. Ubandoma remarked that now is not the time for politics, but when the time comes, “we will show the people that we work with our brains, not just with our heads.”
Earlier in his remarks, Senator Wadada stated that their visit was to pay Sallah homage to the Wazirin Lafia, whom he described as an elder brother and political ally. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged not to let the people of Nasarawa State down.
