As Nigeria marks its 2025 Democracy Day, the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NAPHDA) has extended warm felicitations to key leaders and the citizens of the state and country, celebrating the enduring spirit of democracy and the strides made in public health development.
Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, representing the agency, sent a special message to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, and the state’s leadership—Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule and his Deputy Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe—commending their leadership and dedication on this important occasion.
Democracy Day, which commemorates Nigeria’s historic return to democratic governance in 1999, serves as a powerful reminder of the nation’s commitment to democratic principles, public participation, and collective progress. Dr. Saleh emphasized this significance, urging all Nigerians to reflect on the importance of sustaining and strengthening democratic values.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Saleh also paid tribute to the founding fathers of Nasarawa State, acknowledging their sacrifices and visionary efforts that laid the foundation for the state’s growth and development. He particularly highlighted the transformational leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule, whose administration has been instrumental in driving infrastructural and socioeconomic progress across Nasarawa.
“The health sector, especially, has witnessed remarkable improvements during Governor Sule’s tenure,” Dr. Saleh noted. “There has been a significant increase in the number of primary healthcare facilities, recruitment of skilled health workers, and the provision of essential medical equipment. Over 85 primary healthcare centers have been revitalized, ensuring that each electoral ward in the state has access to quality healthcare services.”
These efforts have substantially enhanced healthcare accessibility at the grassroots level, promoting better health outcomes for the people of Nasarawa State.
Concluding his message, Dr. Saleh extended heartfelt wishes for a happy Democracy Day to all Nigerians, underscoring a hopeful vision for continued peace, development, and democratic progress.
“Long Live Nasarawa State. Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he affirmed.
