Editorial: Thank You Asiwaju, Thank You  Gov. Sule

The much-anticipated visit by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Nasarawa State has come and gone, and all the scheduled activities went on smoothly without any hitches, to say the least. The visit was a resounding success. However, there are some individuals in Nasarawa State who are not pleased with the remarkable achievements recorded by Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule. Unfortunately, envy seems to have clouded their sense of reasoning.

It is astonishing how some voices in Nasarawa state would rather dwell in bitter cynicism than acknowledge the undeniable progress under Governor Abdullahi A. Sule’s administration. The narrative that paints our governor as neglectful and only acting for show is not just unfair—it is outright misleading and rooted in political bitterness.

To dismiss the recent developments in Nasarawa especially the state capital such as streetlights, road dualization/ repairs, building renovations, construction of state secretariat and the flyover and underpass as “last-minute” theatrics is to ignore the painstaking efforts and challenges overcome in bringing these projects to fruition. Infrastructure development is not an overnight task; it requires planning, funding, and execution, which Governor Sule has diligently pursued despite numerous obstacles.

Engr. Sule’s critics conveniently forget that Nasarawa State was left with some legacy of neglect and limited resources but has steadily worked to change that narrative. The flyover, long awaited by residents, is not a token gesture but a significant milestone in easing traffic and boosting commerce.

Furthermore, the arrival of President Tinubu to commission these projects is a testament to their legitimacy and importance, not a signal for superficial “eye service.” It is a mark of recognition for genuine progress.

Leadership is about delivering results, and Governor Sule is delivering. Those who refuse to see this are either blinded by political envy or disconnected from the realities on the ground. Nasarawa people deserve leaders who act, and Governor Sule has shown he will, consistently and effectively.

It is high time the naysayers stop cheapening our progress with baseless accusations. What Nasarawa state want at this material time is constructive engagement and recognition of hard-earned achievements.

The truth is clear: Nasarawa is moving forward, and no amount of sour commentary can reverse that.
