A fresh political movement is gathering momentum in Nasarawa State, as Wadada Connect, a grassroots association formed to advance the 2027 governorship aspiration of Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, held its inaugural executive council meeting on Sunday at its newly established office adjacent to the NEPA office along Makurdi Road in Lafia.

The atmosphere was charged with optimism and purpose as prominent political actors and stakeholders gathered to lay the foundation for what they described as a “people-driven mission” to install Senator Wadada as the next governor of Nasarawa State.

The executive council of Wadada Connect includes notable figures such as Alh. Hamza Alhassan, Hamidu Abdu Almajiri, Hon. Rev. Moses Amagbo, Hon. Suleiman Tafida, Alh. Tijjani Ahmad Abubakar, and Mustapha Abdullahi. These individuals, drawn from diverse backgrounds, represent a strategic blend of experience and grassroots reach.

Speaking at the meeting, the association’s patron, Alh. Tijjani Ahmed Abubakar—who also serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive of Suraj Oil—expressed unwavering commitment to Senator Wadada’s ambition. He underscored that Wadada Connect would “work assiduously to ensure the victory of Senator Wadada at the 2027 elections.”

Alh. Tijjani also revealed that the organization has already established branches in all 13 local government headquarters of the state. He noted that the association will soon inaugurate officials at the local government level to further entrench its presence and mobilize support.

“The grassroots is where true power lies,” he said. “Our movement is not just about politics—it’s about giving the people a voice through a leader who has always stood for development, transparency, and inclusiveness.”

Chairman of Wadada Connect, Hon. Daniel Agyas, in his address, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of unity, dedication, and strategic planning. He highlighted the group’s upcoming programs and engagements aimed at sensitizing the public and galvanizing support across all zones of the state.

He also hinted at a roadmap that includes youth mobilization, town hall engagements, and policy dialogue forums—all designed to spotlight Senator Wadada’s achievements and vision for Nasarawa State.

As political activities begin to stir ahead of the 2027 elections, Wadada Connect appears poised to be a significant player in shaping the conversation and direction of leadership in the state. With a leadership team rich in political experience and a clear mission, the association’s debut marks a notable chapter in the build-up to what promises to be a competitive electoral season.
