In Nasarawa: Katakpa Community Of Toto LG To Get Military Camp To Enhance Peace, Security

Nasarawa State Government says arrangements has been concluded for the establishment of military super-camp in Katapha, Toto LGA to enhance security in the area.

This was revealed yesterday Monday during the visit by the Executive Chairman of Toto LGA Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya and the Security Chiefs to Katapha to assess proposed site for the new military camp.

It was reported that the Executive Chairman Toto LG pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya who led the delegation from the LG, representatives of the Military, and that of the Police as well as other security heads visited Katapha comminuty in the area to assess the level of peace since the return of displaced people to the area.

The chairman Toto LG and his senior officials as well as the security heads also assess the proposed site for the establishment of the super-military camp in Katapha area saying that the move was inline with Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration commitment to ensure sustain peace in the area.

“We are hear today to assess the land area proposed for the establishment of a military camp, the visit was to evaluate the suitability of the location and facilitates necessary arrangements” He said.

He appreciated the people for living in peace and harmony with one another since their return to the area in the past three months and called for its substance.

He announced that aside the establishment of the military super-camp in collaboration with the State Government and the military authorities, the LG on its part will sink boreholes in the area to address water challenges faced by the people.

During the visit the chairman Toto LG Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya also re-affirmed his administration’s commitment to boost food security in the area and called on the people to embrace farming for food sufficiency.

The Chairman was speaking when the visiting team to Katapha inspected LG rice farm of over 100 hectares of land situated in the area noting that the move was inline with state government directive on food security.

Hon. Ahmed Mohammad Nura, the Councilor representing Katakpa who spoke on behalf of the people of the area appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule, the chairman of the LG and security agents for their peace initiative noting that the people are now living peacefully in the area devoid of any sentiments.
