Governor Sule Flags Off 24.5km Wamba–Waiye–Dengi–Alizaga Road Project Amid Applause from APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello

As part efforts towards reinforcing the commitment of his administration to rural transformation and infrastructural development, Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has officially flagged off the construction of the 24.5-kilometre Wamba–Waiye–Dengi–Alizaga Hill Road.

The event, held in Wamba Local Government Area, was graced by top government officials, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Nasarawa State and Governing Board Chairman of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bello.

Designed with a second coat surface dressing, the road is expected to significantly boost connectivity and durability across Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon LGAs—two key rural hubs in the state. According to officials, the project is part of broader efforts to open up rural areas and integrate them more fully into the state’s growing economy.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Aliyu Bello lauded the Governor’s unrelenting infrastructural drive, describing him as “one of the most impactful leaders in the history of Nasarawa State.” He noted that the project exemplifies the Sule administration’s focus on development that reaches the grassroots.

“I congratulate the people of Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon on this milestone,” Dr. Bello said. “This project is not just a road, it’s a bridge to new opportunities, economic growth, and better access to social services.”

He further called on residents of the benefiting communities to support the contractors and cooperate throughout the duration of the project, stressing that “collective commitment is key to the project’s success.”

The road project, once completed, is expected to ease transportation challenges, facilitate trade and mobility, and improve access to education and healthcare facilities in the region. It also underscores Governor Sule’s vision of inclusive development, especially for rural populations often left behind in infrastructural planning.

For the people of Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon, the road is more than asphalt, it’s a path toward progress. And with support from stakeholders like Dr. Aliyu Bello and the APC leadership in the state, the Sule administration appears firmly on track to deliver on its rural development promises.
