As the world marks International Youth Day 2025 under the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has delivered a heartfelt message recognizing the essential role of young people in community development and sustainable progress.
In a statement issued in Lafia today, Senator Wadada praised the energy, creativity, and commitment of youth across Nasarawa state, highlighting their unique ability to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots practice. He noted that young people are actively taking ownership of local initiatives and making a tangible positive impact in their communities.
This year’s theme emphasizes the importance of youth-led actions that contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Senator Wadada pointed out that the efforts of young people in Nasarawa State, through entrepreneurship, advocacy, environmental initiatives, and education, demonstrate their dedication to building a more inclusive and sustainable future.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting these efforts through legislative advocacy, resource mobilization, and inclusive policies that place youth at the center of development agendas.
Senator Wadada also urged all stakeholders, government bodies, civil society organizations, traditional leaders, and the private sector to invest more substantially in youth development. He stressed that lasting progress can only be achieved when young people are equipped with the tools, platforms, and recognition necessary to realize their full potential.

In Nasarawa State, this year’s commemoration serves as both a celebration and a renewed call to action encouraging continued innovation, engagement, and investment in youth-led solutions.
