At Gambia CPA Conference : Nasarawa Speaker advocates more commitment to check and balance, enhance legislative practice among African parliaments.

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Dr.
Danladi Jatau has called on African Parliaments to brace up and uphold their responsibilities in line with the constitutional provision for effective democratic practice and good governance in the continent.
The Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau stated this while making presentation at the end of the 54th Annual Conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association CPA Conference in Republic of Gambia.
Speaker Jatau emphasized that holding regional conferences without implemention or stepping down the rudiments of the summits by participating countries on returning home will continue to defeat the conference aimes and objectives.
“We are just talking, there is no supervision even within us in the African countries and we will not get it right” He said.
The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen who spoke extensively on the role of legislators in democratic set up said African lawmakers need to do more in areas of supervisions, oversights and ensure that the right things are done at all times to strengthening the system for development to thrive.
He reassured of his commitment to ensure that the knowledge gained at Gambia Conference is step down in Nasarawa State so that the State will benefits from its impact towards effective check and balance, oversights and legislation.
