Wadada Connect, a political support group championing the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Ahmed Wadada for the 2027 elections in Nasarawa State, held its fifth strategic meeting on Saturday at its head office in Lafia.

The meeting, which drew members from all 13 local government areas of the state, took place at the group’s newly established secretariat located along Makurdi Road, directly adjacent to the AEDC corporate headquarters Lafia, donated by Rayyanu Bala, Chairman/ CEO, Nasarawa Eye, Newspapers.
The gathering marked a significant step in the group’s mobilization efforts as it laid out a roadmap for its upcoming public activities.

High on the agenda was the unveiling of the group’s head office, an event the members see as pivotal in energizing their grassroots structures across Nasarawa’s 147 electoral wards. While no official date has been fixed, preparations have begun in earnest, with several committees inaugurated to oversee the planning and execution of the unveiling ceremony.

The newly formed committees include Contact and Mobilization, Entertainment, Publicity, Protocol, and Decorations — each tasked with ensuring a successful and symbolic launch of the group’s headquarters.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and CEO of Suraj Oil and Gas, Alhaji Tijjani Abubakar, emphasized the importance of unity within the movement.

“No meaningful progress can be made without unity,” Alhaji Tijjani said. “We must work together, hand in hand, to achieve our shared goals. The unveiling of this office is not just about brick and mortar, it is a symbol of our collective resolve.”

He further charged the committees to work diligently and submit their proposals by Tuesday next week. “Once the committees have finalized their plans, a formal invitation will be extended to Senator Wadada to officially unveil the headquarters,” he added.

The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from the members to intensify grassroots mobilization and close ranks in the pursuit of Senator Wadada’s gubernatorial ambition. Stakeholders agreed that the presence of all ward-level leaders during the unveiling would be critical to demonstrating the group’s growing strength and state-wide reach.

As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on the group’s next move and the awaited appearance of Senator Wadada at the much-anticipated unveiling event.
