
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State celebrated the second anniversary of Aliyu Bello’s tenure as party chairman at a well-attended event held at the party Secretariat in Lafia. The occasion was marked by reflections on the party’s progress under Bello’s leadership and commitments to future successes.
Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Dr. Emmanuel Akabe commended Aliyu Bello for his resilience and unwavering dedication to strengthening the APC over the past two years. He praised Bello’s leadership for uniting party members and enhancing grassroots participation, which has contributed significantly to the party’s growing influence in the state.
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Danladi Jatau also addressed the gathering, echoing the Deputy Governor’s sentiments. He highlighted Bello’s strategic approach in navigating challenges and steering the party towards achieving its political objectives. The Speaker urged all members to continue supporting Bello’s vision to ensure the APC remains dominant in Nasarawa.
Other special guests and party stalwarts were present to celebrate the milestone, offering words of encouragement and solidarity. They expressed optimism about the party’s trajectory under Bello’s guidance.
In his welcome address, Aliyu Bello expressed gratitude to all guests and party members for their continued support. He reaffirmed his commitment to making the APC “a party to beat” in Nasarawa State. Bello also used the platform to encourage all eligible citizens who have yet to register to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise, emphasizing the importance of active participation in the democratic process.
“This is a crucial time for our party and our state. We must ensure that every voice is heard and that every vote counts. I urge everyone who has not registered to do so without delay,” Bello stated.
As the APC in Nasarawa looks ahead, the consensus among leaders and members is clear: under Aliyu Bello’s stewardship, the party is positioned for sustained growth and electoral success.
Speaking earlier at the occasion, the Chairman, Mr. Timothy Ajide, described Dr. Aliyu Bello as an asset to the APC and a “goal-getter.”
“He is a leader in the mould of the late Sardauna of Sokoto,” Ajide said.
While saluting the APC executive committee for their collaborative efforts, he commended them for working in unity and synergy. He also appealed to all aspirants under the APC to conduct themselves as men of honour and purpose.
Also speaking, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammad Hamza who is a former public relations officer of the PDP in Nasarawa state, outlined his reasons for leaving the PDP and joining the APC. He stated that his decision was motivated by the developmental strides of Engr. Abdullahi Sule. According to him, anyone who truly has the interest of Nasarawa State at heart has no reason to remain outside the APC. He urged his compatriots to join the APC in the interest of the state’s progress and development.
The ALGON Chairman, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, praised Dr. Aliyu Bello for entrenching democratic processes within the party’s administration. He congratulated Aliyu Bello and other executive members for their dedication and leadership.
He further revealed that all 13 local government areas are actively mobilizing citizens to participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise.
