In a move generating widespread political discourse across Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Wadada, who also holds the traditional titles of Sarkin Yakin Keffi and Magajin Dangin Lafia, communicated his decision in a letter dated September 2, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Tudun Kofa Ward, Keffi Local Government Area.

In the letter, he stated that his return to the party followed careful consideration and reaffirmed his commitment to contributing meaningfully to the growth, development, and overall success of the APC.

Senator Wadada’s return is being viewed as a major political realignment in Nasarawa State. As Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee, he holds a key legislative position and wields considerable influence both in the National Assembly and within Nasarawa state.

Political analysts believe that his re-entry into the APC will redefine the political dynamics in the state and could significantly impact the party’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While the move has sparked speculation, it comes as no surprise to many observers. Senator Wadada has longstanding ties with the APC and was previously regarded as one of the party’s most formidable figures in Nasarawa before his departure to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

His return is being interpreted as a reconciliation of political interests and a reaffirmation of shared ideals with the APC leadership at both the state and national levels.

Although state party leaders are yet to issue official statements, sources within the APC describe Senator Wadada’s return as a significant boost to the party’s morale and capacity. His experience, grassroots appeal, and strategic positioning are expected to enhance the APC’s outreach and strength in the state.

Senator Wadada’s comeback is also likely to influence younger political aspirants as most of them viewed him as a political pathfinder. His homecoming may signal a broader trend of politicians realigning with mainstream platforms as parties consolidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

As the APC gears up for future electoral contests, Senator Wadada’s return arrives at a crucial moment. With his legislative acumen and political pedigree, he is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping party strategy and grassroots mobilization.

Undoubtedly, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu’s return to the APC marks the beginning of a new chapter in Nasarawa politics, ushering in a fresh phase in the state’s evolving political landscape.
