Nasarawa Governor Receives Campaign Materials to Boost Voter Registration Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a drive to push for civic engagement and bolster voter turnout ahead of the 2027 general elections, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, has officially received branded t-shirts and face caps designed for a sensitization and mobilization campaign targeted at increasing participation in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The campaign materials were presented to Governor Sule by Dr. Aliyu Bello, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who also used the occasion to mark his two-year tenure in office. The initiative is part of a broader strategy by the APC in Nasarawa State to ensure eligible residents especially first-time voters, youths, and individuals who have recently relocated are properly informed and mobilized to register ahead of the polls.

According to Dr. Bello, the sensitization campaign will be rolled out at the grassroots level, with ward and local government APC leaders tasked with driving community-based outreach efforts. These include public awareness drives, distribution of campaign materials, and community mobilization activities aimed at educating residents about the importance of voter registration as a civic responsibility.

“The goal is to leave no eligible voter behind. We want every citizen who has the right to vote to be aware, informed, and empowered to participate in shaping the future of our state and nation,” said Dr. Bello.

Governor Sule, while receiving the items, commended the initiative of Dr Aliyu Bello and emphasized the importance of proactive political engagement, particularly among the youth. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting democratic processes and ensuring that Nasarawa State remains a model for peaceful, participatory governance.

“We must continue to promote voter education and civic responsibility across all communities. The power to determine our future lies in the hands of the electorate, and that journey begins with registration,” Governor Sule remarked.

The CVR exercise by INEC is a critical preparatory phase for the 2027 elections, and political stakeholders across the country are stepping up efforts to ensure inclusive and comprehensive voter participation. In Nasarawa, the APC’s grassroots-driven strategy could serve as a blueprint for other states aiming to boost electoral readiness among their populations.

As preparations for 2027 begin in earnest, the message from Nasarawa is clear: the road to a stronger democracy starts with registration and every vote counts.
