In a grand homecoming marked by pomp and jubilation, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee (SPAC), has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.
The scene at Tudun Kofa, his electoral ward in Keffi Local Government Area, was nothing short of electric. Party loyalists, community leaders, and political stakeholders gathered in their numbers to witness what many described as “a significant moment in the political landscape of Nasarawa State.”
Under the bright sun and amidst echoes of drumming, singing, and chants of solidarity, Senator Wadada received his APC membership card, symbolizing not just a return to the party he once called home, but a rekindling of political commitment to his base and the APC’s ideals.
The event was not just political, it was deeply communal. From early morning, Tudun Kofa wore a festive look. Streets were lined with banners and posters welcoming Senator Wadada, while APC flags fluttered in the wind. Young and old, men and women alike, donned party colors in solidarity with Senator Wadada’s move.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the Executive Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, the APC State Organizing Secretary, the Zonal Chairman of Nasarawa West, and key party executives from across Keffi.
Their presence underscored the significance of Senator Wadada’s political alignment. In a state where party loyalty and grassroots influence play crucial roles, the Senator Wadada’s return is seen as a strategic boost for the APC, especially ahead of future elections.
Addressing the crowd, Senator Wadada expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his dedication to serving his constituents under the APC banner.
“This is not just a return to a political party, it is a reaffirmation of my commitment to the people of Nasarawa West and to the progressive ideals that drive our shared vision for development,” he said. “I am here to contribute, to build, and to collaborate for a stronger and more united Nasarawa state”
He further highlighted the need for unity within the party, promising to work closely with both state and national leadership to deliver impactful governance and effective representation. Just as he also promised to work closely with the other aspirants within the APC.
What perhaps made the event most remarkable was the overwhelming turnout of supporters. Many described Wadada’s re-entry into the APC as a long-awaited and welcomed decision.
“He is one of our own,” said Halima Musa, a market leader in Keffi. “His presence in the APC gives us hope that our voices will continue to be heard where it matters most.”
Party youths also took the opportunity to pledge their support, describing Senator Wadada as a leader with vision, grassroots connection, and proven dedication to public service.
Senator Wadada’s return to the APC is strategic. As the political climate begins to shift in preparation for the 2027 elections, his presence in the party strengthens its position in Nasarawa West, a senatorial district often seen as politically strategic.
Observers note that with his role as Chairman of the Senate Public Accounts Committee, Senator Wadada brings not only influence but also a level of credibility and national visibility that could bolster the APC’s profile in the state.
Senator Wadada’s return to the APC has reignited a flame of political energy in Keffi and beyond.
It is a move that has stirred optimism among party faithful, reaffirmed trust among constituents, and reshaped the political narrative in Nasarawa West.
In the words of one supporter at the event, “This is more than politics, it’s about leadership, legacy, and loyalty.”
