Governor Abdullahi Sule Meets NSA Nuhu Ribadu to Strengthen Security in Nasarawa State

In a strategic move to bolster security and ensure the safety of lives and property across Nasarawa State, the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, held a high-level meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The meeting, which comes amidst ongoing efforts by the state government to address emerging security challenges, was aimed at deepening collaboration with federal security architecture and refining strategies tailored to the unique needs of Nasarawa State.

Speaking after the closed-door session, Governor Sule emphasized the importance of proactive security planning, especially in states like Nasarawa that serve as strategic corridors within the North Central region. “Security is the foundation upon which all development efforts must be built. Our people deserve to go about their daily lives without fear. This engagement with the NSA is part of our continued resolve to strengthen our security apparatus and safeguard our communities,” he stated.

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu commended the governor for his commitment to peace and stability, assuring him of the Federal Government’s readiness to support state-led initiatives. “Governor Sule has demonstrated leadership and foresight. The Office of the National Security Adviser is committed to working with Nasarawa State to ensure long-lasting peace,” Ribadu noted.

The meeting also explored intelligence-sharing mechanisms, community-based security strategies, and the role of technology in enhancing surveillance and rapid response efforts.

Nasarawa State has made notable strides in recent years toward improving internal security, including close coordination with traditional institutions and security agencies. However, challenges remain, particularly in border communities and rural areas affected by banditry and farmer-herder conflicts.

With this renewed collaboration between the state and federal security agencies, residents of Nasarawa can expect a more fortified and responsive security framework in the months ahead.
