The death of former Minister and Senator, Solomon Ewuga, has continued to draw widespread tributes from political leaders and associates across Nigeria, with Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu of Nasarawa West describing his passing as “a monumental loss to Nasarawa State’s political family and the Nigerian nation.”

Ewuga, a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and Senator representing Nasarawa North, died at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness. He was widely regarded as a principled statesman and one of the founding pillars of Nasarawa State’s political development.

In a condolence message released on Wednesday, Senator Wadada said Ewuga’s life was marked by “service, integrity, and sacrifice,” noting that he consistently stood as a fearless and principled leader who never hesitated to speak truth to power.

“His patriotism, his courage, and his passion for the upliftment of our people will forever remain in our hearts,” Senator Wadada said.

He also emphasized that Ewuga’s legacy transcended political affiliations, describing him as a father figure whose wisdom and leadership were sought by individuals across political divides.

“Senator Ewuga’s contribution to the political architecture of Nasarawa State cannot be erased. As one of the pillars of the state at its formative stage, he laid the foundations upon which successive leaders have built,” Wadada stated.

The senator further noted that Ewuga’s death is not just a personal loss but a collective challenge for all to uphold the values the late politician represented.

“We must honor his memory by rededicating ourselves to selfless service, people-centered politics, and unity in diversity, the ideals Senator Ewuga stood for,” he said.

As the people of Nasarawa State continue to mourn, Senator Wadada said they are also united in pride, knowing that Ewuga’s legacy will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.

In his final tribute, Wadada declared, “A titan has fallen, but his light will never go out.”
