In a timely and heartfelt appeal, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza has called on the people of Nasarawa South to exercise patience and avoid political distractions that could derail the remarkable progress being made under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking to newsmen over the weekend in Lafia, Hon. Hamza emphasized the need for unity and calm in the face of ongoing debates surrounding the zoning of the governorship position.
Hon. Hamza acknowledged that every citizen of Nasarawa State has a constitutional right to aspire for political office, regardless of tribe or religion or zone. However, he warned that the current climate of political “overheating” threatens to distract the governor from delivering the dividends of democracy that have positively transformed the state.
Highlighting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s dedication and achievements over the past six years, Hon. Hamza praised his inclusive governance approach, noting that no section of Nasarawa State has been left behind in benefiting from the administration’s development initiatives. “Governor Abdullahi Sule has worked tirelessly to ensure that all communities enjoy the fruits of democracy,” Hamza said, urging citizens to allow the governor to continue his good work uninterrupted.
A former Public Relations Officer for the PDP who recently joined the APC, Hon. Hamza’s appeal cuts across party lines, calling for a united front to sustain peace and progress. He implored the people to refrain from actions that could create division and hinder the governor’s focus on governance and development.
Hon. Ibrahim Hamza further stressed that the path to lasting growth and prosperity lies in patience, unity, and unwavering support for Governor Abdullahi Sule’s transformative leadership. While encouraging the people of Nasarawa South to channel their energy towards constructive engagement by allowing the governor’s vision for a better Nasarawa state to flourish without distraction, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza made a passionate appeal to citizens to support Governor Abdullahi Sule’s eventual choice of successor, emphasizing continuity and loyalty to proven leadership.
Hon. Hamza who is also the Karfen Dawaki of Lafia, drew parallels between the political mentorship of former Governor Tanko Al-Makura and the emergence of Governor Sule, noting that the decision to back Sule in 2019 has proven to be a wise one.
“Just as former Governor Tanko Al-Makura brought Engr. Abdullahi Sule to power — a decision no one regrets today — we should equally allow Engr. Sule to bring forward someone he believes will continue his good work beyond 2027,” Hon. Hamza stated.
The former lawmaker highlighted Sule’s achievements in infrastructure, economic development, and governance reforms, describing him as a leader who has left a positive and lasting impact on the state.
“With what Governor Sule has done so far, the least we can do as a people is to rally around him and trust his judgment when the time comes for him to name a successor,” Hamza said.
He further called on not only the people of Nasarawa South but all citizens of the state to unify in support of Sule’s vision for the future, stressing that such collective action would serve as a proper show of gratitude for the Governor’s service.
“It is only through this that we can confidently say we paid him back for the good work he has done for the state after he leaves office in 2027,” he concluded.
On leadership of the APC in Nasarawa state, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza commended the leadership role of Hon. ( Dr) Aliyu Bello for steering the ship of the party successfully. He described Hon Aliyu Bello as a man of the people as well as strong Piller of the APC.
