Coalition’s Misdirected Outburst:Setting the Record Straight on the Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto Road Inspection

By Hussaini Gambo, Nasarawa

The recent statement credited to the so-called Coalition of Nasarawa Advocates for Democracy and Development, through its convener Ibrahim Ablaba, is not only misleading but reeks of political bias, ignorance, and a disturbing willingness to twist facts for parochial gains.

Let it be stated unequivocally: at no point was the role or office of Governor Abdullahi Sule undermined in the initial report regarding the inspection of the Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto federal road. The mention of Senator Aliyu Wadada was not an attempt to usurp gubernatorial authority, but to reflect his legitimate interest and representation as the elected Senator of Nasarawa West, under whose jurisdiction the road falls.

To brand this as “false, ignorant, and insulting to the prestige of the governor’s office” is not only laughable but also a deliberate deflection from the real issue which is years of decay and neglect this critical road has suffered without sustainable intervention.

What is truly insulting is the repeated attempt by groups like this coalition to lay blame squarely at the feet of Senator Wadada, while conveniently sparing all other stakeholders from the zone who should naturally be expected to advocate relentlessly for the repair of a major federal roads that affects people’s lives daily.

This double standard is not only unjust but illogical. When the federal government fails to act, both the Senator and the Governor and other stakeholders as leaders entrusted with the people’s mandate, have a duty to demand and ensure action. But to consistently hold Senator Wadada solely accountable exposes the political undertone of such criticisms.

Moreover, if indeed the inspection will now be led by the Governor “in company of stakeholders from the zone including Senator Wadada,” then the coalition has only managed to confirm the collaborative intent reported earlier not refute it.

We urge the public to be discerning and to reject these baseless narratives aimed at sowing confusion and division. The priority must remain the rehabilitation of the Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto road, not petty political point-scoring.

Senator Wadada, like Governor Sule, is answerable to the people and both must be held accountable not based on ego-stroking coalitions, but on results and commitment to the development of Nasarawa State.

Let us focus on facts, not factional fiction.
