Hon. Ibrahim Hamza Praises Governor Abdullahi Sule for Prioritizing Security in Nasarawa State

Honorable Ibrahim Hamza has praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for his proactive and committed approach towards addressing the growing security challenges facing Nasarawa State.

The commendation follows Governor Sule’s recent convening of an expanded security council meeting at the Government House, where he raised grave concerns over emerging security threats from neighboring states and recent violent clashes within the state.

During the meeting, Governor Sule condemned the violent communal clash in Nindama village, Kokona Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of seven people. He directed the Commissioner of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) to urgently investigate the incident and prevent similar future occurrences.

Governor Sule also highlighted intelligence reports about the infiltration attempts by criminal groups such as the Wulowulo, a Boko Haram splinter faction, and the Lakurawa group from Kwara State, emphasizing the need for vigilance to protect Nasarawa’s peace and security.

Expressing concern about the rising kidnapping cases, particularly in Lafia and parts of Karu Local Government Areas, the Governor called for new strategies to combat the menace effectively. He also commended the Nigeria Police Force for deploying an additional 120 officers to boost security and praised the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for its ongoing operations against drug cartels.

In response, Hon. Ibrahim Hamza who is also the  Karfen Dawaki of Lafian Bare bari applauded Governor Sule’s dedication to the welfare and safety of Nasarawa citizens. He described the Governor’s leadership as exemplary, noting that Sule’s decisive actions and collaboration with security agencies have reinforced the state’s reputation as one of the safest in the country.

“Governor Abdullahi Sule’s commitment to security reflects his deep concern for the wellbeing of our people. His proactive measures, including the recent expanded security meeting, demonstrate that the safety of Nasarawa residents remains a top priority,” Hon. Hamza said.

He also urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and refrain from pressuring for the release of suspects to allow justice to take its course, supporting the Governor’s call for collective responsibility in maintaining peace.

Hon. Hamza further appreciated traditional rulers and local government chairmen for their roles in sustaining harmony within the state, emphasizing that such collaboration is crucial in tackling insecurity.

As Nasarawa State continues to face security challenges, the concerted efforts led by Governor Sule are seen as vital steps in safeguarding the lives and properties of its people.
