I’ll only support aspirant with capacity to win 2027 guber election-Governor Sule

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that his major concern is to deliver the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, stressing that he will only support the aspirant with the capacity to win the election.

Governor Sule made this known while appearing as a guest on a programme on TVC on Friday.

According to the Governor, having realised the mistakes that resulted in the APC losing all the three senatorial seats, as well as most of the house of assembly seats to the opposition political parties in 2023, his administration would avoid repeating similar mistake come 2027.

He expressed determination to deliver the governorship seat to the APC in 2027.

“I am learning from what we did wrongly in 2023. That is why you see that no matter the pressure, I refused to step forward. What I tell everyone of them is that I have nothing against anyone of you. Anyone of you has the capacity to be a governor of Nasarawa State.

“But before I would make any statement on my own part, or show any support on my own part, it has to be somebody that has capacity to win election. We are not going to give somebody with the biggest amount of money. We are not going to give it to the someone with the tallest car or the shortest guy amongst us. We are looking for somebody that cares about the people. People love that person. The people also would vote for that person. All of you are in APC,” he stated.

Governor Sule added that his major concern is to win the 2027 governorship election, stressing that he would put aside any other consideration in order to support an aspirant that has capacity to win the election.

“All of you are my brothers and sisters. But I would put that aside because I want to win election. My number one requirement is to win election. We allow them. They are all going round. I am hearing from the people: who they like, who they don’t like. At the end of the day, that is what we will do,” he said.
