Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, on Saturday urged youths to embrace tolerance and unity during the annual Mada Youth Summit and magazine launch in Kokona Local Government Area. The event took place at the Kenegbe Event Centre, Garaku, and drew youth leaders, community elders, traditional titleholders, and stakeholders from within and beyond Kokona.
In his address, Senator Wadada emphasized the importance of peace as the foundation for development, noting, “Peace is not a negotiable commodity; it is the foundation upon which every other thing stands. As young people, you must be the first ambassadors of peace. When our communities coexist in harmony, progress follows naturally.”
The senator praised the Mada Youth Wing for organizing the summit, describing it as a “bold initiative that reinforces cultural values and strengthens communal understanding.” He also highlighted the significance of self-expression and community documentation by donating ₦2 million to support the launch of Banci Mada Kokona, the youth magazine that aims to showcase the stories, values, and achievements of the Mada people.
“Every community deserves to tell its own story in its own voice. I believe this magazine will serve as a platform to celebrate your culture, promote education, and strengthen unity among the Mada people,” he stated.
Participants lauded Wadada’s consistent support for the Kokona community, noting that his engagement extends beyond political campaigns to social, cultural, and youth empowerment initiatives across Nasarawa State. Many observers said the senator’s presence at the summit reinforced his image as a leader committed to grassroots engagement and inter-ethnic cooperation.
As the event concluded, attendees agreed that Senator Wadada’s message of peace and his tangible support reflect leadership rooted in service, compassion, and unity, values that continue to define his political journey in Nasarawa State.
