As the race for the 2027 governorship of Nasarawa State begins to gather momentum, and with zoning now settled, going by Governor Abdullahi Sule’s statement during his interview with TVC last Friday, one truth is becoming increasingly clear: Nasarawa West cannot afford to miss this moment. Yes, the zone has produced strong political figures in the past, but the forthcoming election presents a unique opportunity to translate years of loyalty and contribution into real leadership at the state level.
And when it comes to choosing a candidate who can make that happen, Ahmed Wadada Aliyu towers above the rest.
When the people of Nasarawa West went to the polls in 2023, they made a bold decision. Running under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) not even the ruling party, Ahmed Wadada defeated candidates from the mighty APC and other parties. That victory wasn’t luck; it was the result of years of service, grassroots connection, and the trust he built across every ward and community.
Now back in the All Progressives Congress (APC) the party of progress and power, Wadada has shown once again that his heart and loyalty remain with the people and the platform that can best serve them. Since returning in September 2025, he has gone beyond words to action: donating vehicles, financial support, and logistics to strengthen APC structures in all five LGAs of Nasarawa West — Karu, Keffi, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto and indeed, in the whole of Nasarawa state.
Senator Wadada has demonstrates in many ways that he is truly a loyal party man. A party man who has paid his dues.
Wadada’s journey tells a story of resilience and loyalty. He was part of the APC from the beginning, a founding member who believed in the party’s vision for progress. When he temporarily left for the SDP, it wasn’t out of disloyalty, but a response to internal challenges that many genuine party men faced. His return to the APC is not a U-turn; it’s a reaffirmation of faith in the house he helped build.
He didn’t burn bridges, he built them. He didn’t divide, he unites. That’s the mark of a mature politician who understands that politics is about service, not self ego or interest.
Since the issue of zoning has been settled in favour of Nasarawa West in the interest of fairness, equity, and rotational principles, we believe that the time for Nasarawa West has come. But the zone needs more than just a name on the ballot; it needs a candidate who can win.
Ahmed Wadada has already proven he can deliver victory, even under difficult circumstances. Backing him is not a gamble; it’s a guarantee. He brings with him a combination of popularity, experience, and credibility that no other aspirant currently matches.
This is not the time to experiment with new or untested faces. The future of Nasarawa West and indeed, the entire state demands a candidate who has the courage, capacity, and connection to deliver. Wadada is that candidate.
Some may whisper about his brief defection, but that argument falls flat against the facts. Wadada’s return to the APC was a bold, deliberate move to unite the family and focus on victory in 2027. In politics, adaptability is not weakness, it’s wisdom.
Others may claim there are quieter loyalists in the zone. But loyalty must be seen and felt, not hidden. Wadada’s loyalty is visible in his actions, in his contributions to party structures, in his engagement with the people, and in his commitment to building unity across political lines.
2027 is not just another election year. It is Nasarawa West’s defining opportunity, the moment to step forward, lead the state, and prove that the zone’s time has truly come.
To do that, the people must rally behind a proven, trusted, and battle-tested leader. A leader who has won elections, built alliances, empowered communities, and shown unwavering commitment to progress of the state as examplifes by his efforts at relocating the headquarters of NCDC to Lafia, Keffi- Nasarawa- Toto- Abaji road. And many others.
Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu is not just the best option for Nasarawa West but he is of course, the winning option.
Let’s unite behind him. Let’s build on his strength. And let’s make 2027 the year Nasarawa West takes its rightful place in the leadership of Nasarawa State.
Senator Wadada is the only person that is tested, trusted, and is indeed, ready to lead the battle to 2027 and beyond.
