Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has cautioned against what he described as the antics of seasonal politicians who only appear during election periods to deceive the electorate. The Senator said such individuals must be rejected for attempting to exploit the people and reap where they did not sow.
He called on the people of Nasarawa State to rise above divisive politics of ethnicity and religion, stressing that true leadership should be built on competence, vision, and verifiable achievements rather than empty promises.
Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District, made the remarks on Sunday at the Keffi Polo Ranch during a gathering with members of his campaign team. In a gesture of appreciation, he announced a ₦20 million reward for his loyal supporters, describing it as a token of gratitude to those who had stood by him through thick and thin.
The Senator expressed deep appreciation to his team, recalling their dedication during previous political battles. He commended their resilience and commitment, noting that they not only mobilized massive grassroots support but also defended the people’s mandate with courage and discipline.
According to him, their loyalty remains the foundation of his political journey and the driving force behind his continued service to the people. He urged them to begin strengthening political structures across all local government areas ahead of the 2027 governorship election, emphasizing that the journey ahead would require renewed energy and coordination.
Senator Wadada also highlighted his record of constituency projects and people-focused initiatives, stating that his works and impact across communities speak for themselves. He maintained that none of the current governorship aspirants could match his experience, visibility, or capacity.
At the event, Professor Silas Gyar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ahmed Wadada Aliyu Campaign Organization, described the Senator as a genuine leader whose deep-rooted popularity would make the 2027 race an easy victory. He encouraged the campaign team to expand its reach, saying political strength grows with numbers.
The campaign’s Director General, Hon. Bello Ramalan, praised the ₦20 million donation as a reflection of Wadada’s humility and generosity, noting that the Senator does not just lead but inspires those around him.
Several grassroots members, including Alhaji Maikasuwa Mohammed, Danladi Usha, and Samuel Tukura, reaffirmed their commitment to the Senator’s vision, pledging to mobilize wider support for his 2027 ambition.
Observers say Senator Wadada’s consistent engagement with communities across Nasarawa, attending burials, weddings, town meetings, and social events, has strengthened his connection with the electorate and widened his support base.
As the 2027 governorship race gathers momentum, political watchers believe the movement behind Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu continues to grow stronger, fueled by gratitude, loyalty, and a reputation built on visible service to the people.
