Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has joined prominent leaders and citizens across Nasarawa State in celebrating former Governor and elder statesman, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, on his 73rd birthday.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday, Senator Wadada hailed Al-Makura as “a courageous reformer whose leadership legacy continues to shape the political and developmental landscape of Nasarawa State.”
Wadada commended the former governor for laying what he described as “solid and lasting foundations” for the state’s infrastructural expansion, administrative discipline, and inclusive governance during his time in office. He added that Al-Makura’s dedication to public service, both as governor and as a senator, remains exemplary.
“Your Excellency’s life has been defined by resilience, integrity, and an unyielding commitment to the welfare of our people,” he said. “As you clock 73, I pray that Almighty Allah grants you more years of good health and wisdom to continue guiding and inspiring our state and nation.”
Senator Al-Makura, who served as governor from 2011 to 2019 before his election to the Senate, is widely acknowledged as one of Nasarawa’s most influential political figures and is often referred to as the Architect of Modern Nasarawa State.
His 73rd birthday has drawn tributes from political associates, traditional rulers, and supporters, many of whom continue to applaud his enduring contributions to governance and public life in the state.
