Yes, Indeed- Wadada Has Truly Paid His Dues

By Rayyanu Bala

Politics is like a crowded marketplace where everyone is saying anything and everyone is making all sorts of promises left, right and centre, yet among them only a few truly stand out. But every once in a while, a leader emerges whose words carry weight because they are backed by experience, sincerity, and a record of real commitment. Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu happened to be amongst such sincere, experienced and committed leaders.

In his foremost speech delivered first at APC Youth House in Abuja and at the Nasarawa state House of Assembly as well as at Akwanga during his meeting with Chairmen of 13 Local Government Councils, Senator Wadada was qoated as saying: “I am not aspiring to be Governor because I am Wadada, I am aspiring because I have paid my dues, I care, and I can turn around the fortunes of Nasarawa State.” This statement is of course a statement of facts that hardly could be disputed.

Of course, experience is one of the most valuable assets in governance, and Senator Wadada brings plenty of it to the table. His years of service first at the House of Representatives and now at the Senate, reflect dedication. He has served and is currently serving in the National Assembly with visible impact and serious engagements with communities at the grassroots across Nasarawa state, while he consistently shown loyalty to the state and its development.

When someone has truly paid his dues, it shows in his work and his record speaks clearly. Senator Wadada even his critics can not dispute the fact that he has paid his dues.

There is indeed, no contesting the fact that Nasarawa State needs someone who prioritizes people, listens to their concerns, and makes decisions rooted in empathy rather than political calculations.

Over the years, Wadada has demonstrated care through community programs, legislative initiatives, and consistent involvement in developmental efforts across all sectors long before now.

Nasarawa state deserves Wadada as governor who sees the people as the HEART of governance, not as mere voters who will vote and be discarded.

Many aspirants in Nasarawa state today talk about transformation, but only a few have the capacity to deliver it. Senator Wadada without been told, has the capacity as well as strong mix of intellectual ability, political maturity, and economic understanding to continue from where Engr. Abdullahi Sule will stopped.

No doubt, Nasarawa is rich in solid minerals, agriculture, tourism, and strategic positioning near the FCT, but these opportunities remain largely untapped until the coming of Engr. Abdullahi Sule. Now
the state needs someone who can follow the foot step of Engr Abdullahi Sule so as to turn these potentials further into progress, so as to turn the ideas further into action, and turn the challenges further into opportunities. Wadada has shown the competence required for these tasks.

Again one unique strength Senator Wadada brings is his ability to connect across generations. He appeals to young people because of his openness and modern thinking, and he commands respect among elders due to his experience and cultural grounding.

Verily, Nasarawa needs a unifying figure who can bridge divides, inspire collaboration, and lead inclusively. And that unifying figure is no any other person than Senator Wadada.

In a political environment such as ours, where many rely on family names, godfathers, or temporary popularity, Wadada is presenting himself based on merit. His aspiration is rooted in contribution, hard work, and a belief that leadership must be earned not inherited.
This mindset is exactly what Nasarawa needs at this stage of its growth.

Nasarawa state cannot however, afford to have an experimental leadership or inconsistent governance. What the state needs now is a governor with a clear developmental agenda, the discipline to implement it, and the credibility to rally stakeholders within and outside the state, just in a way and manner governor Sule is doing. No doubt, Senator Wadada’s temperament, experience, and clarity of purpose makes him the kind of stabilizing and forward-moving governor the state needs after Engr. Abdullahi Sule.

We make bold to say that the future of Nasarawa must be built on competence and I believe no one has any apology to give on that stance and when all the political noise fades away, one question remains: Who has that confidence, who can truly deliver?

If the people of Nasarawa evaluate their options based on competence, experience, sincerity, and a proven commitment to development, Senator Wadada stands out as one of the strongest choices for 2027.
Nasarawa deserves a governor who is not just running for office but is genuinely ready to serve and Wadada has shown that readiness through years of consistent effort and dedication, for that, he has indeed paid his dues. The next is for us to reward him by helping him realized his dream of becoming the governor of Nasarawa state in 2027 for him to continue impacting on the lives of our people.
