Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, today received the leadership of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) at the Government House, Lafia. The delegation was led by the National President of the association, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, who is in the state with other members as part of COWA’s ongoing Flagship National Sustainability Project, known as the “COWA Green Border Initiative.”
The initiative focuses on mobilizing border communities across Nigeria for environmental renewal, youth support, improved sanitation, and large-scale tree planting, aimed at strengthening climate resilience and sustainable development.
During the visit, COWA presented Governor Sule with the COWA Green Champions 2025 Award, recognizing him as a “Climate Responsive Governor.” The award, according to the association, is in appreciation of his administration’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its continuous support for national climate-focused initiatives.
Mrs. Adeniyi commended the Governor for his “exceptional support” during the Flagship Green Border Sustainability Summit held on 16th October 2025 in Abuja, noting that his leadership has remained instrumental to the success of COWA’s nationwide advocacy.
